We are distressed to have discovered typographical errors in the Purely Pomegranate roll of our Purely Holiday wrapping paper, as well as the sheet of Holiday Harmony double-sided Designer Series paper featuring holiday phrases. The word "greetings" is missing the r, and the accent over the French "Noel" is improperly placed in both these products. Effective immediately, we are turning off the item code for the Purely Holiday wrapping paper ( 110146 ). This product will no longer be available. We are putting the Holiday Harmony Designer Series paper ( 110238 ) on backorder.
It's important to do all we can to maintain customer confidence in the light of this serious mistake. Our plan is as follows:
* We will refund the complete product price ($17.95) to every customer and demonstrator who bought the Purely Holiday wrapping paper. (This item included two rolls of wrapping paper, and only one roll is affected by this mistake.)
* We will provide a new 12-sheet pack of Holiday Harmony Designer Series paper, containing corrected sheets of the faulty paper, to every customer and demonstrator who has purchased that product. (Since 10 sheets of their original package are fine, those 10 sheets would be, in effect, free.)
We are providing a refund on the wrapping paper because we cannot get it reprinted within a short time frame. We are replacing the Designer Series paper because we expect to have that problem corrected in about a week.
We are currently working to find out whether and how quickly we can gather the information we need to provide refunds and replacement packages of paper to the right people. We will give you more details as soon as possible on how we will carry out these refunds and replacements.
For your information, Stampin' Up! has not yet received any reports of these mistakes. We assume this is because people have not yet started wrapping Christmas packages or making Christmas scrapbook pages or cards using this particular paper. We are reporting to you now, before we have all the details of how we will carry out the refunds and replacements, so that we can minimize the number sold and contain the problem as best we can.
Please watch for more information on how we will carry out these refunds and replacements.
Thought you all might like to know. This one is kinda funny. But maybe I'm just warped? Anyway now I have customers to contact.

Well all I had to do was look at my beautiful chipboard JOY to see "geetings" right up front and center! can you believe I did not notice that when I put it together but then I usually do not Proof read my paper or wrapping paper. I hope my customers did not notice this at my Open house this weekend.
I ordered the wrapping paper and I have a special for the DP we are making boxes and bows. Wow. I love both the paper and the DP I haven't even noticed it. Alright did anyone else notice it. I didn't see it mentioned here on SCS.
WOW! I'm surprised no one noticed this sooner. I'm going to go check if I have any customers who ordered the Holiday Harmony DSP. I'm bummed I didn't order the DSP because then I'd have 10 sheets free!!! LOL.

Wow. I bought both, but haven't had a chance to use them! I barely even looked at them. I actually got at least one of the things "free" with hostess benefits, so I wonder if they'll still give me a refund. Even though they were "free" I still would have chosen something else in its stead. That's very cool that SU noticed it themselves and are working to fit it fast. They're so good about that!
It looks like SU! is really on top of this. I appreciate how they have chosen to resolve the issue.
Also, I had the thought, "Thank goodness for the internet." Imagine the work it would have taken, in the past, to get the word out to demos.

I ordered 4 packs of the designer paper for my personal Christmas cards! Plus, I had customers order too! I'm really glad that SU is going to fix the problem and send out new packs. I'm REALLY excited that I had ordered 4 packs of the paper now!
Do I see a new catch phrase for this year ? Seasons Geetings??
They should take the other roll of wrapping paper & rebundle it for the next mini with something else as the 2nd roll is in that Baroque themed & could be any occassion paper

maybe no one noticed because it is like an email I got once where a lot of letters were missing but yet you could read it perfectly. You dont actually need all the letters to read a word! I dont think it would bother me on the wrapping paper used to wrap presents as I dont think too many people actually read the words on it-- they just LET IT RIP !!! LOL

Wow, I can't imagine the cost to SU! I have sold at least 12 packs of the paper (and nobody's noticed any spelling errors), only two rolls of the wrapping paper. My husband thinks it's a stupid business decision to replace and refund everything when nobody's going to notice - I think it shows us how amazing they are!
Oh Man! I really wanted that paper! I knew I should have placed my order for it! Darn it! Well, if anyone is annoyed with it, and wants me to purchase it, let me know!
LOL! This is too funny! Geetings! It's funnier that people were using it and not noticing, like our minds automatically process greetings because of the season. LOL!

I see you are an SU! demo, and I can see your other posts in the demo forums. Are those the ones you're talking about, or had you made an earlier post in this general forum? Just curious. I've never heard of posts disappearing before. Very weird. Does it only happen when things are *merged*?

I had one disappear on this thread and on several other threads. I have seen others complain about this happening at other times too. It is very annoying to spend time thoughtfully composing a lengthy post, proofreading, posting and then have it disappear with no explanation.
That is strange considering that it only says you have posted this one time.

This is really weird. I have seen your username on other threads while browsing (don't remember which ones) and now it says you only have one post. Strange.

LOL, I agree! Still, I'm glad they're resolving the problem in the best way possible. Most people will probably be happy that they ended up getting this gorgeous wrapping paper for free! Also, they'll likely use it despite the typo because, like you said, who's really going to read it?

So true! I just want the present - ha ha! I think it's funny about the typo! For those of you who have the papers - at least you have a 'collectors' item!
OUCH- that has to hurt SU... bet whomever proofed that wrapping paper is going to get into some trouble :(
At the same time though, it CRACKS ME UP that they haven't recieved any outside complaints about it. And the number of people on here who never noticed.
As a writing professional who is paid to edit and proofread, I am extremely curious as to how this happens. But it does seem that one of the ways a company "cuts fat" happens in this area.... I find it professionally very interesting!

well SU! is certianly not the only paper crafting company to have this happen....did anyone else get stuck with the Heidi Swapp Twill Tape that had the days of the week on it....and Thursday was spelled THRUSDAY?? I mean really....I have proof read papers for people and skipped over spelling mistakes that were subtly wrong like that because your mind doesn't always notice those types of mistakes.

Ah, well, mistakes happen all the time, even when you think the system is "foolproof". Every time I read our local paper (where you know there are proofreaders on staff), I want to grab a red pen, mark it up and mail it back to them. (I was a legal secretary for 13 years, and things like that drive me batty).
The point here is that SU! is fully compensating everyone who was affected, as well they should. They are handling it beautifully.

You should see our local paper.... It is TERRIBLE. I don't think they have anyone on staff to proofread. The headline of this last week's edition was the first type. The apostrophe was placed incorrectly for a plural possessive. (That drives me nuts.) Names are spelled differently throughout one article, etc. Even my husband notices!
