Now my girls want one of those, too. heehee I just ordered the new Scorpal a couple days ago. There is an awesome sale going on right now for the Scorpal. Not only is it priced at $29.95 now, but you can also use the code SCS10 for 10% off. Shipping is free for orders of $40 or more, so if you add the mat or a couple other small things, you can get free shipping.
I've tried out the Martha Stewart score board, but the lines are TOO close together. It's easy to jump a track. Also, when I am working with templates, I line up the area I am trying to score using the lines in the board, and with the Scorpal, the lines are easy to follow. When you have a zillion lines it's hard to tell where it is. I am all for saving money, but the most important factor for me, if that the product is easy to use, with professional results. That is why I chose Scor-Pal.
I nominate you as a spokesperson for Scor pal!!

Thank you. LOL Nomination accepted.
And just to be clear, I paid full price for mine with my own money. LOL Thought I'd throw that out there for everyone.
As for everyone who is saying they wished they knew changes were coming... the stamping retail business is akin to the electronics business. When you buy a new TV for $1000, you do so with the knowledge that:
a.) sometime in the next year that TV is going to be sold for several dollars lower than that (been there done that)
b.) the new improved version is coming out SOON for probably the same price you paid for said TV (been there done that)
Improvements can ALWAYS be made to products and I am glad someone is out there being innovative, listening to consumers, and improving products that are functional as is, but could always be better. With the Scor-Pal, the new version is LESS than the old version, WITH improvements, AND Diana is offering a discount on top of that. What more can she do? I would call that smart business AND being generous to her customer base. Bravo.
I have never used a Scor Pal product. Was tempted, very much, but I had already purchased the MS scoreboard. Maybe someday I will purchase one and then donate my MS to a friend who doesn't have any scoreboard, but for now I have to use what I have.
I never purchased the original Score Pal, but did use a friend's on occasion and loved how it worked. However, I don't make many 3-D items--mostly cards, but when I needed to score I used the groove on my paper trimmer and was completely happy with that, except that the 4 1/4 mark was hard to hit. Still, I didn't like the large size of the Score Pal or the price. When the Score Buddy came out, I couldn't resist--it is so darn cute and the small size is prefect for most cards. I love my Score Buddy, but don't see a need for the Score Pal, new and improved or not.
I have the original and want the Buddy because of the size. I don't think I'll upgrade. I don't think I need all those extra measurements enough to make it worth it.
I second that!

I went yesterday and bought the MS one at Michael's with my 50% off coupon - haven't used it yet, but I will really only make cards (it's nice to dream about other cute projects, but I know myself, lol!) and from everything I've heard it should be the best for me. I'm so thankful to everyone for all the input here at Splitcoast - y'all rock!!!

I am sticking with the original. I can figure out where to score if it's not on the Scor-Pal. I've had mine awhile and I love it. Bought my friend the Scor-Buddy for her Christmas present. I wouldn't mind having it.
We have a Pay It Forward program for Scor-Pal owners. If you would be interested in donating you Scor-Pal to a fiend/relative, rest home where they do crafts, school etc. you can order the new one with a 25% discount off your whole order so you can order Scor-Tape too if you wish. E-mail me if you are interested at [email protected]

Is this offer still good? I don't use mine as much as I would the new one with the extra grooves!!

I work in an LSS and have used the Scor-Pal, Scor-It, and the Martha Stewart board. Hands down, the Scor-pal is the best.
The MS scoring tool is too sharp and often tears the paper when scoring. Also, the tool doersn't stay in the track as well as the Scor-Pal. Lastly, the MS envelope tool works OK for A2 envelopes and small square ones, but try making a tower card envelope (or a larger size envelope like A7)---good luck!
I love my original Scor-Pal and use it so much---I really don't feel the need to upgrade. We sell both the MS board and the Scor-Pal and I always recommend the Scor-Pal (or the Scor-Buddy if they are exclusively cardmakers)---you get what you pay for sometimes!
I had the older version of the scor-pal, and now have the "new and improved" version. I wasn't sure if I would like it a LOT better than the old one but it turns out, I LOVE IT! I really love all the extra grooves I didn't think I'd need. I did use to shift-then-score with the older version and no longer have to. The envelope pamphlet that comes with it, explaining clearly how to make envies, was great. I like that I no longer have to shift at all, and I find myself making things with more scoring on it, or unusual measurements of scoring, that I didn't think I would.
I like the magnet at the top for my little brads/eyelets that I am working on my project, and especially for my paper piercer that seems to roll around a lot!
I highly recommend the upgrade. It's very worth it! Plus, you get to do business with a company who really cares about their customers.
