Default unmounted question

I know I live under a rock.

I won a free set of unmounted stamps (with red rubber, not clear) from a blog candy drawing. I have no idea what to put them on! Clear acrylic blocks? I hear people talk about storing them in cd cases, so how the heck do you stick them on and then get them off? Please help! I really want to go to Michael's today to get what I need. THANKS!

You can get this stuff called E-Z Mount to temporarily mount stamps to acrylic blocks. It's an all in one foam mounting product that has adhesive on one side and vinyl cling on the other so it's ready to adhere to the smooth side of the rubber stamp.

You could also get the foam padding and vinyl cling separately from places online. I've ordered some from Cowtown Stamps. They have a handy starter kit that comes with acrylic blocks, foam mounting cushion, and vinyl cling.

Or you could do what she said in the previous post and permanently mount your stamps to wood blocks. I've only seen wood blocks online at stamp stores, but you could probably find them at craft stores as well.

Personally, I've used the E-Z Mount system and LOVE being able to temporarily mount stamps to acrylic blocks. It makes stamp sets easy to store

Congrats on winning!!

Since this is your only unmounted set (so far) ;), I'd suggest using double-stick tape on the back of the rubber. If the stamps are small enough, you could use the bottom of a drinking glass or some other smooth surface as a temporary mount. This way you can figure out if you like unmounted stamps before spending too much money. (If you don't like it, then you can mount the stamps permanently to wood blocks with double-stick cushion.)

I unmounted all of my stamps (SU and others) and use the EZ Mount system. I have directions in my gallery (in the Unmounted album) along with pictures. The EZ Mount foam typically has to be ordered online. I've read that some people can find this at their local stamp store, but Michael's doesn't carry it.
