I'm totally in love with the technique from todays Inkling...but I have no idea where to find Translucent Embossing Paste.
Is this available in stores, or would I have to go on-line to find it? I'm in Canada, so I don't have Hobby Lobby, or Joann's....just Michaels, Walmart....
Any help would be great...I'd love to use this technique on some Christmas Cards!
I bought it at my LSS (which is owned by Michael's) and have also seen it at other local scrapbook stores. I bet Michael's would also carry it although I have not looked for it there.
Ok, here's what the jar says: www.dreamweaverstencils.com Distributed by them, here is address also : Dreamweaver Stencils Colton,CA 92324 Mine is labeled Translucent Embossing Paste, NOT clear. It is the correct stuff, as I bought it after I saw the demo at a convention. HTH. Linda
I believe it is made by dreamweavers. Linda GIve me a few minutes and I will check the label, mine came from a vendor at a show.
Yes, I have Dreamweavers in transluscent, silver, gold, copper, black. Got them at a stamping show in Syracuse.
I found this source-never ordered from them tho. Just a word of warning there is white or regular embossing paste which in opaque and there is transluscent which is clear. You will want transluscent if you plan to color first, whether with chalks, ink or whatever. The regular white can be colored after in dries OR add glitter before it dries.
If you need a source for stencils: this company has good service I love the home page. It says your spouse called and said buy as much as you want:-D
I was wondering the same thing!! I have Mod Podge but no clear or translucent embossing past....and it is 40+ miles to anywhere from where I live....hmmmm may just have to try it
Mod Podge is not the same thing. Think of this stuff like joint compound. Or maybe Royal Icing?
They do have it at Michaels. Go to the adhesives aisle and stand facing the glues. Now turn around to face the opposite side of the aisle and look just a smidge to the right, lol. (They all follow the same Planagram where possible, so there's consistency from store to store.) It's in with the stencils and stencil supplies (like brushes, etc. as well as the paint jars). In my store the paste is right in there with them.
If all else fails, see if you have some joint compound or pre-mixed spackle in the garage...
I went to Michaels and looked in the stenciling department and didn't find any paste. I also looked thru all the glues to see if it might be there. What is a girl to do?

I know this is next to worthless in the typical Michaels, but did you try asking someone? Sometimes you can get lucky (in a crafty sense ;) ) and find someone who actually knows and understands the merchandise. I once found someone who knew what etching cream was and found it for me in the stock room. Good luck!

Betsy, does it worry you that you have Mikes memorized? Good job!
