I just signed up as a CTMH consultant, so I'm trying to get the hang of understanding the ShinHan markers. Although I only have about a dozen Copics, I have a really good grasp of how the Copic colors work. I've been looking online for a comparison chart, so far I've only found one by Suzanne Dean, but it lists the numbers only and doesn't show color samples.
Does anybody know of one? I'm hoping Dina/mamadini might have one...
Oohh, I don't have a chart, since I only have 6 Copics. ;)
The Shinhan numbering isn't meaningful like the Copic system, where the numbers are grouped by shades. The older colors are vaguely grouped by number in color families, but that system falls apart with newer colors. I have a color chart on my blog that is grouped by shading groups if that would be helpful (it's the second one on the page below).

Thanks Dina! Maybe ShinHan can be convinced to rename/renumber their colors someday ;) I read that they based it on the Munsell system... which I'm still trying to figure out.
When I was first deciding what alcohol markers to get into, it was really important to me that picking colors to buy and blend be simple. I picked up the Copic system really quickly, so that was the kicker. Now I need to figure out what Copic colors will blend with ShinHan, because CTMH only sells a limited number of colors, and I can't buy the additional colors locally. And I'm in Canada, so buying online is *really* expensive at the moment.
On a side note, I find it really inspiring Dina that you've adopted ShinHan as opposed to Copics. I'm going to be studying your color maps on Pinterest!!
Wow, the Munsell system is a fascinating rabbit hole... especially as an artist, linguist, lover of color and avid sorter...
So it seems the markers do have the color groupings of the system but they don't follow the numbering... I can't figure that out either and it seems more related to a stocking system than a color inventory. I just refer to the colors on my chart - the numbers to me are insignificant unless I need to reorder or refill.
I found the Shinhan markers when I was looking for a lower-cost alternative to Copics. They're good markers!
