Default Tonic Paper Trimmer

I'm considering purchasing the 12x12 Tonic. For those of you who own this, could you answer a couple ?s, please?

1) Does it cut slivers of paper, really small pieces of card stock?

2) Is the blade self-sharpening, or does it have to be replaced?

3) What is a good price? I'm looking at about $50 including shipping, is that about right?

TIA

Joann.com has it on sale here for $34.99 and there are some free shipping codes around. I believe one is PIA135. I think it is good for a purchase of $35.00.

Hey, thanks for the shipping code, bwstamper! I had seen the sale price @ Joann's but w/standard shipping and state tax, it was going to be just below the $50. Saving in shipping is a BIG bonus.

I have the tonic 12x12 guillotine. It does cut slivers of cardstock and the blade is self sharpening. I got mine through Joann.com with a free shipping code about a month ago and have loved it!

Default Tonic

I got the 12 x 12 large guillotine and absolutely love it. As stated above. Yes, it will cut slivers, and also blade is self sharpening. Love it.

Also, I learned with mine, to hold the plastic orange thingy down when cutting and also to kind of pull in towards the base with the blade when cutting.

As I said, I absolutely LOVE It!

I have the 6" base and YES it cuts tiny tiny slivers of paper. It's AMAZING! I had a Fiskars trimmer before and this one takes the cake. I've had mine for almost a year and the blade is still super sharp. It's supposed to be self-sharpening so it will never need to be sharpened.
