Does anyone have any advice for keeping that tiny tip on the Glossy Accents bottle clear? I have tried the "squeeze the bottle and blow air out and then wipe up any additional product that comes up through the tip" before putting the top back on, but that doesn't seem to help consistently.
I spent about 20 minutes trying to unclog the tip today, using super hot water and various pointy objects. Gah! I discovered that the tip actually comes out of the bottle (but don't ask me how--I lost about a quarter of the bottle trying something somewhat impulsive :-)) Soaked the little tip in hot water, stuck a needle down the tip and it got stuck in the plugged product! It was easier to use when I didn't use the bottle very much... now it's a small nightmare every time I try to use it.
Think you, Vic! Since my dexterity isn't the best and I don't have any foam tape — why am I always missing just one craft item when my room is stuffed with stuff?! — I think I will need to cave in and buy the 20 gauge Fineline applicator with the non-clogging stainless needle tip, and just decant into that. I saw Karen Burniston use one when putting together one of her 3-D cards and it looked like the best solution for keeping things thin and flowing.
I was having the same problem, even used Tim's tip with no luck. Jim the Gentleman Crafter uses a coursage pin and leaves it in the tip when not in use. Works fine for me so far.
I found the pin ok but the best I found was using this little plastic piece you remove when you buy new clothes. You know the piece that has like a 'T' on the end of it. The piece that usually goes through the clothing tag. Instead of just pulling off the tag which I use to do, snapping that little end I now cut further down. I end up with a very thin end of plastic about 1/2 inch long with the 'T' bar on the end. You insert the plastic leaving the end sticking out, the actual bar end is out. Screw on the cap. When you are ready to use unscrew cap and pull out the little strip of plastic. Sometimes you need to pull between your fingernails to clean off and just re insert when ready to use again.
I have not had a blocked tip using this idea.let me know if this description is too hard to understand and I will attach photos.

^ this Using the plastic thing rather than a pin means you won't get the rusting problem you can sometimes get if you use metal. I also store the bottle upside down.
I have a package of rustPROOF pins that I used when I made my dad's military memorabilia shadow box for him for Christmas. So it might be a good idea to swap mine out for one of those.
With that plastic hang-tag thingy...how do you get the glossy accents lid back on over that tab?
I like the idea of a replacement cap vs a replacement bottle. Not interested in pouring liquid glue from one bottle to another so the bottle tips seem like a really good idea. Do you happen to know if these tips would fit the SU crystal effects bottle?
If you have any of the products mentioned, you could try the SU CE cap and go from there. You can send an email or call using the contact tab. She offers great customer service.
When I get a new bottle, I trim the tip, use it and then always store it upside down (lid down) in a small box so that it doesn't fall over. The tip remains full of liquid and never clogs. No special tips needed. Hope this helps.
