Thinning Embossing Paste?

Does anyone know if you can thin embossing paste if it starts to get thick and spongy looking?

I never have. I do try to get it covered right away when using it.

I would try it in a small batch before tossing it

Can you mix some with a tiny bit of water and stir it well? Can't hurt..going to toss it anyway.

Rats, I just threw my thick stuff away last week, would love to have thought of thinning with water. I suspect it will work fine. I cover mine immediately, but some of mine got thick just because I hadn't used it in a very long time, at least a year.

Please report if you try thinning with something.

I recently tried thinning white embossing paste with water. I tried some with some of my brass stencils and it worked fine. I did a small portion first then the jar. I'm not sure if this will work with the metallics, though.
