Oh no! You can put packing tape over the cut on the back side of your mat to hold the cut together and continue to use your mat.

I haven't used the Cricut mats - but somewhere on another site I read you could use the cutting mats from the dollar stores with repositional spray adhesive. Only have used twice so far and they working. Got two mats for $1 at the Dollar Tree and have only done cutting with them not print and cuts. Hopefully will have more time this weekend to play.

I just used one of the $1 chopping mats too. It works great. I also have a $ Store crafting mat that is the same kind of plastic but big (18x22) that I use to cover my table. Those would also work great too.
