Got mine too, but they said they were no longer taking online coupons :( , oh well, still a great price! I have the prisma's and some copics, and these work really well in comparison of the price.

I am sorry you didn't get to use your coupon. I got mine two days ago but it may just be different at your Target. Still a great deal! Have fun with your new markers! ;)
A big thanks to buggainok! I just got back from Target where I picked mine up on sale @ $11 - the $3 coupon (thanks for the link). That makes each marker roughly .25! A quarter each - wow! If they do work as well as the Copics (or even a fraction as well, will see when I get some time to play) @ $5-6 per pen, I'm elated!!!
Now that's enabling even a husband can't object to!
Sorry for the poster who couldn't use her coupon. Did they even try it? When I handed mine to the cashier a little while ago, she looked skeptical. I queried her; she said some are internet coupons are good and some are fraudulent and they never know till they scan them. The one I printed from the link was good (natch, right?).
I could not get the coupon to print. I tried and tried...then just decided to get them on my lunch break. Had to go to two Targets and finally found them. Even without any coupon I think $11.00 is very reasonable for 40 of these markers.
Thankyou so much buggainok! I really appreciate you posting this. Believe it not, as SOON as I read this, I logged off my computer, locked the dog up and drove over to target and WHOOPIE! they had some! still for $11.00!!
I'm so happy! I was just telling my boyfriend how much I would love to have the copics markers but, just couldn't afford them. Not even close. But, these are beautiful!! such nice colors! I'm definitely gonna watch the video again to learn how to use them. Thanks again and have a great wknd!
I love these markers too. I finally am getting the look I've been wanting without the high cost of Copics. I wish one end of the pens were fine point but I can live with it.
The colors are pretty vibrant/dark. In order to get some of the lighter tones, I've had pretty good luck using other markers with them. I even have a set of Prang pastel markers that I've combined with the Bics.
So, don't be afraid to experiment and use whatever you have that seems like the right color, i.e. Crayola, Roseart, Le Plume, SU markers, etc. The waterbase markers do tend to pill the paper and streak more, but you can use them with the Bics if you take your time and color carefully.

So, I thought this looked REALLY interesting... But, instead of doing it this way, I used my Tombow Dual Brush markers (similar to SU!s) on standard 80# white smooth CS and an image stamped with VersaFine Onyx Black ink and it worked PERFECTLY!!! If I used too much ink, the CS began to "roll off" a little, but I just left it until the whole image dried and then (the next day) gently swept a clean hand over it and it looked GREAT! I have to admit that it did not look so wonderful at first (as I was doing it), but as the ink colors blended together and dried it became more and more smooth looking. I also used the lightest gray I had to outline the entire image and this gave it a 3-D or raised appearance. My husband and daughter both were impressed!
Thank you so much for the video! You changed my life!

I had to take ds college supply shopping and was lucky enough to see the thread and coupon in time to print it off before he was ready to go!! Thank you for sharing the coupon, the checker looked at it and said "we'll see" but when she scanned it it took it, Yeah! I also got one of the 64 boxes of crayons to play with this weekend as well!!
I can't complain about being enabled when there are coupons involved as well, lol!

What do you do with the crayons>? I watched the utube video on blending the Bics and Sharpies. It was very helpful. I am hoping I get time to play with the new Bics this weekend.
Blessings.
Still wondering what you do with the Crayolas.

Since you asked about Crayolas, check out this wonderful artist who makes amazing pictures using only crayons.
Wow! Thanks for the link...this man is awesome with the Crayolas. I might try some with Gamsol and see how it works...always looking for something new to try. I worked with the Bics last evenng and made such a pretty flower...this is going to be FUN!
Blessings.
Bought both sets today!!! Have some Copics but can't justified buying more right now. I do have a question tho. The Bic markers have the name of color on the pens but the Sharpies don't. Sometimes, I start on a project but have to stop and put everything away. I try to jot down the items I used but if the Sharpies don't have the name anywhere on the pen??? I know the packaging indicates the Sharpie 29 color selection available but you have to guess which one they designate as ocean blue or turquoise or peach or tangerine, etc. Are the Sharpies labelled somewhere on the pen?
I just came back from Target with my new Bic Markers!! Thanks so much, Buggainok, for the tip. I used the coupon, too, to get a further discount. I'm so excited!!
Thank you so much for the link. I saw the ad and had forgotten to go pick mine up.
I use and swear by copics (pay $3.95 each for Sketch at carpediemstore.com) but tried this technique for colors I don't have. It works and looks great (I still love my copics best) I do notice a difference but use sharpies in a pinch. I prefer the Bic over Sharpie because they seem to lay down color better. Thanks again you gals rock!!
Also try Papertrey Inc White or Neenah Classic Crest solar white instead of watercolor paper they work better in my oipinion for theses techniques. It takes less ink to get the saturation you need for blending!
Wanted to add...Try Momento Tuxedo Black, Pallette or Adirondak ink. These WILL NOT smear with alcohol based markers and no heat setting is required. Brilliance ink will not smear either but MUST BE heat set first.

Oh good! thanks for posting this. I have the Adirondak black ink pad so, I'll try it!

The weights in the link are all much to light(24lb is just a bit heavier than printer paper not CS) I believe it is 90 lb it comes 250 sheets in a pack. I get mine locally at Papers Plus $23 a reem of 250. Since trying the Papertrey Inc Stampers select white I will probably be using that from now on. But Neenah is the closest to PTI I have found it is great CS!

I tried the Adirondack and it bled for me. :( I finally broke down and got a Brialliance ink pad and after heat setting it worked perfectly. I used PTI Stampers Select White. These markers work great- especially for the price. I will get Copics one day...but until then I will be using my Bics. :-D

How silly, not taking online coupons. I would have asked to see the manager. I had no problem, just handed my coupon ( I like to use the other side of paper and put it in the printer with the the wrong side up so it printed over something else and the still took my coupon ).
Sorry that happened to you.

thanks for the info .... picked mine up yesterday --- I'm a Beginner, and there are so many things that I need every dollar saving tip is important!! I've gained so much -- reading through all of the forums that I feel confident in the choices for tools etc etc that I'm making -- simply from the generosity of everyone sharing their info Sharon
I must have missed the sale because I went to Target today and they were 18 something. I was so bummed. I almost gave in but thankfully I did not. I stopped at Sam's Club on my way home and they were 12 dollars and change. Not too bad.

Printed the coupon and off to Target tomorrow!!!!!!
I'd be curious to know if they are still on sale at your Target. I was bummed that they were not on sale at my Target. I double checked the sales flyer and they were not in there this week.

If you have a Sam's Club, check there for the Bics. I got a set there some time back for a reasonable price.

buggainok......i could get to that link but when i click on it it goes again to the "install coupon printer" which i have done....accckkk !!!
Pam, I'm sorry it won't work. That is so frustrating. I'm not at all savvy about computers so don't have any advice. Maybe, just keep an eye out at Sam's Club if you have one. The Bics are frequently on sale there. Also, keep an eye on Staples.

When I was at Wal-mart today I noticed their pack is priced at 11.00 and some change. They didn't appear to be marked down either. Just thought I'd share!
I have tried out my Bics and I must say that I like them. Has anyone else noticed that some colors flow very smoothly and some feel a bit "scratchy" on the paper? The markers are not dried out they just do not write as smoothly as some.

thanks so much for this fantastic info..ihave been THINKING about putting a complete set of copics on ym chrisymas wish list...but now am thinking..NOT!
as soon as i found this thread i printed out a few coupons...and...i ran over to target last weekend when i saw this post and picked up 2 packs of the set of 36..(at $8 after the coupon.i figured i'd buyan extra...)and also picked up the big set of sharpies....and also while browsing the pen aisle found another marker set ...SRX COLOR METALLIC...(similar to teh boc and sharpie sets..)
im not sure if these were acid free like the bics..(couldnt find anything on the packaging...ill check againin case im just not seing it...
but...i will be using these on cards only (not scrapbooking)...so im not too worried about that...
i have been playing with all of the markers and am very happy with "the look"...and the metallics are nice as well..(soft metallic look.as opposd to glitter)
while i love using my blender pen..chalks..inks..pencils etc...having these markers allows me to add a whole new look to my coloring..that doesnt involve the high cost of copics ...for right now..(i will no doubt give them the number one place on a wish list of mine sooner of later;) ) ..but for now..im happy with these markers..from target!
