Not all Target stores have their $ Spot set yet. I was searching for Christmas stuff this weekend and only 1 of the 3 stores I went to had a ot of the new stuff out yet
I found them at a couple of stores in the Austin area. My Stampin' Up! downline found some but not enough for her workshop - so she asked the store clerk if there were anymore, and he brought out a whole case. Just a thought if you need a bunch.
I just posted mine a couple of days ago, here, with a link to instructions (though they're pretty easy to decorate).
I have 3 boxes ready to be mailed containing 4 red, 1 white and 1 pink Target mailboxes from last year that I'm willing to part with, preferably to someone who doesn't have access to a Target store in the US. They are $1.07 each, plus postage. PM me if you are interested.
Here's a tid-bit I learned last year during mailbox mania ... :-D
A cashier told me:
When you see an item and stock is low, take that item to the nearest price checker/scanner. When the price comes up, look at the bottom left hand corner of the screen ... there it will tell you if this item is in the stockroom. If it is, the next step is to get an employee to get it for you.

Maybe this tip will help some of you.
Thanks for that! and bumping because I see Shadow has some to send on to a new home in case people can't find them.
No mailboxes @ my Target :(
Who scooped them up?! LOL
Probably the same folks who cleaned out both stores near me! I went to one about two weeks ago and they still had picked-over Christmas junk, and no one could tell me when it would be restocked. Stopped by last night on my way home from work, and there was a big empty spot above the tag identifying the mailboxes -- THREE YEARS IN A ROW now, and I have yet to get my hands on even one mailbox! :(

... Our Targets had red, white, silver and a yucky metallic-looking pink. ...
LOL. It will only be referred to as that "yucky metallic-looking pink" until someone uploads an awesome design done with that color. Then everyone else will want it. ;)
Ok, you all got me wanting these little mailboxes. I went to Target today and.........YES, they had some. I found 12 in various colors.
I am having a stamping event in 2 weeks and hope everyone likes decorating these little guys!
Thanks!!
Janine

LOL...If I happen to find 2, I'll send you one but from the sounds of things I think we're SOL...
I found 10 silver mailboxes at my Target. One is pretty banged up and will need to be returned. I'm not sure what to do with the silver, has anyone experimented? =)

Thanks Wendy, you're a dear! I've begun to think that this trend is just not to be in my little corner of the stamping world, and have started working on a paper template for my own version. Ultimately better for my bottom line, right, since I don't have to buy any "outside" product! ;)

SU used to have a template for a mailbox on the demo site, I think. It may have been on the customer side, though. My friend used it last January at a MOPS retreat. It was really easy and cute!!
BTW, my 11 YO dd loved the "yucky" pink!! She asked me to track down more for her. LOL

LOL...my 13 YO dd and 12 YO niece love THAT color too! Maybe it's teen/tween thing!!
What is everyone using to apply the paper and ribbon to the metal? I bought 6 mail boxes yesterday. First time buying them. I see how cute they are when I look them up but can't find how to adhere everything.
thanks!
Our Targets had red, white, silver and a yucky metallic-looking pink. I wish they had the soft pink like last year.
Oh my gosh.. I just LOVE that metallic pink one!!
I just wish my Target had them. I didn't even see an empty spot where they would have been. Plenty of little buckets, but no mailboxes. Maybe I'll check back this weekend.

Tombow makes a glue especially for adhering metal to paper. It comes in a gray bottle similar to the one for Mono Multi, and is sold at most craft stores. Sticky Strip is also a good option.

Yes, I too was wondering what people are using for adhesive???????
Thanks!
I have altered TONS of these little babies and I use ZipDry. It works like a dream! It stays wet just long enough for you to "slide" your paper into place, then dries pretty quickly afterwards . . . LOVE it! (All my mailboxes are in my gallery in February 2007 . . .)
I have not see many in AZ although my "friend "seems to have scored some. They aren't everywhere like they were last year. Happiness is a friend who tells you where the mailboxes are!
JACKPOT!
I was at Target today and gave a whirl through the $1 spot.....They had mailboxes! I was so excited! I didnt have a basket because I didnt plan on seeing any, so I stood there scared to walk away in the fear that someone would snag them all while a went 20ft to grab a basket...LOL How pittiful is that:cool:
They had tons and all colors. I felt like a kid in a candy shop. I ended up with 6 white and 6 metal. Woot Woot!
FYI for anyone in the area--I was at the Target on 19 in Port Richey yesterday. They have a lot of red and silver mailboxes. There were a few pink left (he he, i really liked them).
I have 7 left if anyone needs them. I bought a bunch for a friend but she didn't need that many. I will return them if no one else needs/wants them...meant to do it sooner, but put it off. pm me.
