Hi ladies. Anyone have the target cubes? Are you happy with them? I want to go get about 10-12 of them to make a floor model cubby stand. Just really in desperate need to know what my fellow stampers/scrappers think of them. Anyone???
do you mean the white wooden ones, or the metal grid ones?
I have the metal ones, that I use to store all of my 12x12 paper in. I can make as many shelves as I need and they are on sale for 12.99 this week
If you mean the wood ones, I acutally made my own (would have been cheaper to wait for a sale) but ac moore ac moore I think this week has theirs 50% off so 15.00 each... good luck.
I love them so far. I got some at Target, and some at Michaels (both made by the same company), and have put 8 together as I'm re-doing my whole craft room/office. They go together easy and seem plenty sturdy. As soon as I have my room done, I'll try to post pix!

I have 5 of them and I love them! They are very sturdy and stable. I have the ones with 4 dividers. The box shows them arranged so that the dividers are horizontal. I've turned them so that the dividers are vertical. Each section fits a cropper hopper vertical paper holder perfectly! I have all of my papers and albums stored in mine. I have 5 of them stacked on top of each other in a corner.
Did you guys see the Mike's ad this week. I think it said they were 50% off.
OF COURSE they would be on sale now--I bought mine this past Tuesday!!!!! Oh well--mine are put together and my re-configured room is nearly finished--YAY!

I got every style at Target last summer. I love all of them EXCEPT the hanging file folder cubes. Once I put a bunch of paper in them, the metal rod kept falling down from the weight. I had 4 of those and finally quit using them. Also, those were half price so I have a feeling I wasn't the only one who didn't like them. The other styles are working out great, though.
Hi everyone and thank you all so very much for all of your advice. I did go to M's today and I bought 4 of the 4 drawer ones, 5 of the 3 drawer ones, 2 of the paper holder slotted ones, and one of the one that has a shelf & a drawer. So far the DH only put 1 of the 4 drawer ones & one of the 3 drawer ones together. But so far... so good!!! I love them. Poor me, I have been living out of huge 55 gallon containers and a bunch of smaller plastic sterilite boxes.:( Oh well, the pain of looking for what I need for 25 minutes will be over soon. I have a room that is 16 feet by 11 feet to work with. My DH will be building me a table this week, I'm so excited about that. Bless his heart, he said honey, I know you like a larger workspace so I'll go to Home Depot & buy the lumber this week and build you your own custom table. He's not a woodworker by trade he's a policeman & an electrician. But..he's my jack of all trades & the man of my dreams. Okay enough of the mushy stuff. L.O.L. Again thanks so much everyone for all of your advice. Any advice for stacking them or any other great ideas for my craft room? I'm all ears & totally open to any type of set-up. If you have pics please send the link so I can take a peek. HUGS!!! :p
Does anyone know if Michaels cubes and Target cubes look enough alike to be put together. I like the price at Michaels but I can't buy everything I need now and I am afraid later they won't have them anymore. I would have to finish up with Target cubes.

I have just one of the target cubes. the 4 shelf paper one. LOVE it. Planning a trip back to the US for a couple more (well among other things). Michael's ones look the same to me... but haven't bought any... way to overpriced... even with a coupon.
Yes, the target cubes & the michaels cubes are actually both made by Jetmax Inc. And they are only $15.00 until Saturday at Michael's. I bought 12 of them today........And I love them!!! Hurry & get to your Local M's mine was out so I had to go 45 minutes away from my house to get them all.
I was at Michael's today, and they told me that if they don't get more in by Saturday, they will give a raincheck for them. I plan to check back and get the raincheck if I can't get the one with 4 drawers. I got three of them, but I haven't gotten them put together yet. I can't wait!

Oh my goodness...you will love them, especially for $15.00. I can't believe how sturdy they are. The container store sells the paper ones for $49 or $59 and it's made with the same materials. My DH only put 3 of them together so far. He's said he wants to charge his drill & put the rest together w/ the drill. He was using his screwdriver & it's just alot of screwing to do it manually
but for the price... you just can not beat it. You will love them. Let me know what ya think!!!
I just bought about 12 of these after Christmas as well and LOVE them!! Definitely recommend an electric screwdriver to put them together. We didn't use one and stripped two screwdrivers by the time we were done but it was definitely worth it. I can now find my stuff easily and have twice as much time to work.
I am so excited. I started reading through this forum this morning and this topic caught my eye. I ran right out and bought 12 of them. I can't wait to get my craft room put together! We just moved and unfortunately that room has been the last one on hubby's priority list. Thank you to all of you for the recommendations and advice!!!
Just to let you know...... the dividers that come with the one drawer/shelf cube also fit nicely into the 3 drawer cube. If find there is a lot of wasted space (height wise) when you use the divider in the one drawer/shelf cube. When you put the dividers into one of the 3 drawer cubes - its a perfect fit height wise.
How much do the ones at Target usually cost? I am glad to hear they are by the same company as the ones at Micheals since that is where my first three are from! By the way - I do love the ones I have!!

Right now you can get the Jetmax cubes at M's for $15.00 until Saturday at 9 p.m.. The Jetmax cubes that Target carries are around $23.00-$27.00 it depends on the style, I believe. Crazy but when I went they were all different prices. Hope this helps.
For those of you who just recently purchased the cubes at full price, some stores will reimburse you the difference if you still have the receipt. Not sure what M's policy is but may be worth checking out. If it's been less than 30 days since you purchased and they have gone on sale, I'd give it a try. Ask to speak to the store manager.
Does anyone know if Target will match Michael's ad? I have 2 Michael's stores within 10 minutes of me and they're both out of cubes!
One store said they had no more on order, so they didn't think they would get any more very soon!
I had never given it a thought that they might give a price adjustment at Michael's--and when I called their corporate 800 number, I was told they didn't. But--just by chance, I called the store in Fort Wayne, IN, where I bought mine, and talked to the manager--who told me that if it was within 7 days, they would adjust the price. TODAY was the 7th day! So off I went, and happily got the sale price on the cube I bought last Tuesday.
So thank you for posting that and saving me $$$!

Another cube question. I've noticed alot of pictures of work spaces with cubes of some kind on either side then a work surface on top. I'm hoping this summer to replace my desk with the cubes, but not sure how the top would go on. Does the cubes manufacturer make a desk top or would I have to use something different?

I just got back from my local Ms & got the last cube they had. I asked for rainchecks for the other 3 styles that I wanted to get & when the Manager came up to the customer service desk where the R/C's were being filled out ~ she said that they weren't getting any more of those in & that it was pointless to get any R/Cs ~ I stood my ground & asked if they'd mind giving them to me anyway ~ she looked very miffed & just shrugged & said well, I guess if you get to another store who still has any... I'm telling you that lady did not get her job based on her people skills! & Frankly, shame on M's ~ if these are being discontinued ~ why not just say so & put them on clearance & not on sale!
I've got rainchecks for 6 at Michaels they said I was certain for 2 of them - I went to Target down the road and got two to get started. I have a desk that I am planning on putting them on top of but if that doesn't work I can always just stack them - they look so great! Thanks for the heads up on these in this thread and how well they work
