Default The Tape Depot question

Hi! I read the long post about the The Tape Depot. I want to get the gun too! Sorry, but I am not sure which tape to get?

I am going to order their ATG gun. I scrapbook and do some cards too. Which tape? The 7502? What size? 1/4"? 3/8"?

Thanks!

I have the ATG 714 and have started using the 1/4" tape from The Tape Depot, which I love!

I just ordered their gun this last Sunday and had it by Thursday. I also got their 1/4 tape. I haven't gotten to play with it very much yet, but what I have used of it is great. The only complaint I have is that the loading directions were not in English, but it did have pictures so I was able to go by that.

Default the tape depot

my stamp club all bought them and they like them...there are a few draw backs...some of us have the 3m atg and if they didnt have problems and they were less expensive, I still would have them buy the 3m one...the tapedepot one the directions are harder to follow and it rolls the opposite way for the scraps...the dispenser is larger so you have to make sure you push the roll all the way down, and the waste rolls all willy nilly on the empty part, not crazy about that...I have ordered 9 of them and the only people who are having problems are the left handed people. The discarded tape seems to catch on the reg tape and it reverses itself and rolls back out the front. Still trying to work that out. Maybe I will try to load it the way that we do with the 3m one and see if that makes a diff....I still think though they are so worth the money.

I ordered and received the Tape Depot's ATG-50 and 12 rolls of the 1/4" tape. I like it. I think it works fine.

I don't think there is any reason that is sufficient to use anything other
then the 1/4 inch tape, it probably will cost more to use wider tape, but not necessary

I had that problem at first, too and I am right handed. I finally figured out in my situation, the reverse tape rolling happens when I forget to press the trigger. If I can remember to press the trigger while applying the adhesive it doen't happen.

To the OP: I bought the ATG and 1/4 inch tape from Tape Depot. I have made a bunch of cards and only used about half a roll of tape. I love it!

I am loving my dispenser from Tape Depot. I could have used better directions but I figured it out and love how it works. If the used tape starts to get messed up, it is so easy to open it and pull it off and rewind it. I think it will save tons of money in the long run!

CRAFTSRLB, I had the same problem as you with the waste stuff winding all crazy on the uptake spool. I kept having to open the tape area section and removing the waste because it started to bunch up against the part that flips open. I think this is because the spool that holds the tape is wider than the 3M ATG gun because this same gun is supposed to accomodate a 3/8" tape. (I just sent 2-714 ATG guns back to 3M) What I did was punch out a circle with a 1" hole out of the clear acrylic that comes on the CB embossing folders (looks like a donut) and put it on over the tape to keep the refill against the back so it doesn't move around on the spool. This seems to help. (Had a lot of waste on my first tape refill)

I am not one to post long messages, but I wanted to answer some of the questions we have been receiving from our users about the ATG Tape you are writing about.

The ATG Tape is Called ATG 7502. We presently carry it in 1/4, 3/8. 1/2 and 3/4 X 36 Yard Rolls. I mention the 36 Yard Rolls because they fit the ATG-50 Dispenser we sell on our site, and the Scotch and 3m 700/715 Dispensers.

Note: IT IS ACID FREE

Note: 1/4 Inch 12 Roll Sub Pack: $18.00 ($1.50 Per Roll)

THE TAPE DEPOT

ATG 7502 TAPE (GREAT FOR SCRAPBOOKING)
- You can find it on our web site by going to our home page (thetapedepot.com_
- Look at the Left Hand Menu Bar (ATG Tape - Click It)
- Choose ATG - 7502 (you can buy it in 12 Roll Sub Packs)

Hi. I just bought the ATG 3M 700 (1/2 inch?), it is yellow. It did not come with tape. Just wanted to know if I can use a 1/4" tape with it or do I just have to buy 1/2" tapes? I will use it mostly for cards and some scrapbook. What do you guys suggest? Thanks.

If you want to use 1/4" tape with the 700 you have to buy the adapter. HTH

I still don't have this gun *yet* DH says he'll get it for Christmas for me ;)

BUT...the Tape depot just donated two guns and several rolls of tape to an SCS gathering that we're having here in Michigan in March.

They were wonderful and so helpful when I requested a donation that I'll have no problem giving them my business! They ROCKED!!!!

Anyone who has ordered from Tape Depot before please help. I placed an order last Tuesday and I still did not get an email with shipment confirmation. Is this normal turnover time for them or should I be worried? TIA

My gun is ordered for Christmas

I got a confirmation email within 20 minutes, so SS72 I would have to agree that maybe your order didn't go through for some reason. Email them or call them they are super easy to work with!!!

Me TOO...I LOVE it!!! I let the ATG sit in the box for almost 2 years before I opened it and now I use it all the time. LOVE it and the tape from Tape Depot is SO reasonable.

I have bought an ATG gun and tapes from their ebay store on Dec 15th and emailed them 2-3 times since to ask for confirmation and to ask to let me know when they ship my order but I haven't received any replies. Anybody had the same experience? They already left me a feedback though. And prior to this, I usually get a quick reply when I asked questions. Hmm just wondering..

Hi Cricut Community.

Thanks for so many lovely letters about the ATG Tape and Dispenser. Back Orders as painful as they can be are part of business. We have coming on the 18th enough ATG Dispensers to last well through 2010.

Since we started selling the ATG 50 we have been so pleased that our customers are finding it now only useful, but a great money saver. All Back Orders will ship between March 18th - 21, 2009. ALL ORDERS

We try so hard to please all of our customers. Sorry if at times people feel like we don't, but believe you me - WE ARE TRYING and IT IS OUR PLEASURE :-D

Al I always say - Please write me with any questions. Also remember to check you SPAM Mail Box in E-Mail. Sometimes important follow-up mails and information get placed there by you Internet Service Provider. This is why it might seem that at times you are not getting responses.

Have A Nice Weekend -

So if ALL backorders were supposed to be shipped by the 21st why wasn't MINE shipped until today, the 27th??? Because I've been too nice and too understanding?

So, Mr Tape Depot, HMMMMM?! My order is part of Kaite Muck's order. So does that mean you screwed me too? As well as the other ten customers that grouped together to make that $500+ order? Hmmmmm. That spells not good business to me. Hmmmmm. Is eBay and SCS more imprtant that one single order that was more than understanding and patient? Hmmmmm. Maybe next time I will encourage my customers in my card club to not order with Katie. We may just take our order somewhere else because of your overlooked, patient, important, customers. Hmmmm. Very Sad Indeed!
