Hello,
I saw posted directions for using the tag punch and having it only punch out the top so that the tag is long..... I cannot figure this out- when I try to gently punch out only the top, there is an indent at the bottom.... Any suggestions???
Hi, I found this the other day in the technique forum and copied it to a word doc, sorry I don't have the name to give credit to (Thank you -whoever you are!) . I tried it and it is so easy once you get the hang of it..seems obvious, but I needed instruction! :
"cut a strp of paper the width of the tag punch, or slightly narrower. Slide this strip into the punch, and pull one end through the bottom flat edge of the punch . This way when you punch the bottom part won't cut, because it is not in the punch. That probably isn't very clear, but if you cut the stip and play with it, you should get it. "
The punch is upside down with the cutter facing you, and the strip hangs out facing you..(gee it really is hard to describe in words!)
I read those posts to... they didn't make any sense to me until just now... pulling the strip through the tag...WOW!!!! THIS IS WAY COOL.... I wanted to do it last week and just couldn't figure it out.... THANK YOU!!!

cool, that was me! I of course got it from the woman who posted the tag nugget pouches, of course I don't remember her name.
I tried to attach the file but I don't know if it worked. Cool technique that works with other punches as well.
I too had problems understanding it. You are basically pulling the bottom of the paper through the tag, so you are punching it upside down, really, the extra paper is in the punch by where you push the handle. You have to have your punch upside down in order to do this. Uploading pictures now on how to do this.

I am a visual learner too, that is why I figured the pictures would help! I made my fiance' take the pictures and then I did the whole thumbnail thing, that was so easy, why hadn't I done it before?? Glad everyone is finding the pictures helpful! I didn't come up with this but figured people can benefit from seeing the pictures!

Lisa M - that was awesome. I am a visual learner as well, and I so totally get it now from your pictures - I just wasn't understanding the words. I am totally excited now to get my tag punch. It should be here tomorrow!!!!!
Thanks for the instructions and the pictures! Who thinks up this stuff!?!? I am somewhat creative, but I am always amazed at what other people think of!! I guess you have to force yourself to think outside the box.
Thanks again...I get so much wonderful information and inspiration from this site!! :-)

Same here. I kept reading it, but thinking how can it work. I never actually picked up the punch. But, the picture your have is not the picture that was in my mind. Now I've got it. Thanks so much. Just need to think of an idea now.
I'll join the throngs!!!! Now I get it, thanks to the pictures; otherwise, I probably would have said forget it. Thanks for sharing the pictures for we written-instruction-challenged people :>)
