Do any of you know where I could find a Punch similar or like this from another company or somewhere? Ebay is too high too. I found it is going to cost approx. 23.00 for the su punch not including tax and I (for me) can not see the expense?
I think so too, but I can't hardly believe that no one out there makes a similar punch. I know SU's is made by EK Success. But there has to be another company out there. Please?
It is $15.95 plus tax and shipping from your local demonstrator (find one at www.stampinup.com). If she has other orders going in, the shipping is 10%. You could also post in the TRADE forum with your trade list.
I have a McGill punch that I found at Hobby Lobby. It makes four different punches that are shaped similarly to the word window (long oval) but they are specifically meant to layer with each other. It is kind of cool, but it cost me something like $18 at HL. So, barely any cheaper. (Although it weighs over a pound and so I also use it when I want to flatten something.)
I will say be careful about these kind of square punches, it takes quite a bit of muscle to use them. I bought several of these when I first started stamping and have given all but one away. A lady in my stamp club bought a couple at hobby lobby also, she doesn't like them either, she thinks they are to hard to use.
That is very true - they are more difficult to use than the lever punches! I still have a few and use them. Just depends how bad I want that shape I guess, LOL!

I saw a fiskars punch today at icky joanns. It was that squeeze one. It wasnt as big as Su's but you can just double it. It was 14.99 with a coupon its cheap!
I agree with Kim on this one. I bought that very same punch. Not only do I have to put it on the floor and press it with my foot, I then get more than I needed due the the layout of this punch. I like it, don't get me wrong, but it's not very user friendly for me. I finally did get the word window punch and that works so much better! I don't have to stand on it to get it to work!
I bought the word punch from HL and on the second use it got stuck and wouldn't release. I took it back, paper stuck in it and all. Exchanged it and the 2nd one was horrible as well so I got my money back. I have not had any luck with the larger punches from HL. I want the SU one but am waiting to find other things I can't live without before I place an order!
What I have done is purchased the Nestabilites labels dies. There are 3 sizes and they are basically the same thing as the word window punch. The best thing about them is because of the fact that's it a die you can use it anywhere on your card with out the worry of it being long enough to reach somewhere. I got them off Ebay for $12. I use them with my Cuttlebug. I thought his was a good price especially because you get 3 sizes to choose from, and many of my word/sentiment stamps fit right in there perfectly.

If you look at the post 2 below mine (by wagleg) these are the dies!
True, the McGill punch takes some real muscle some days. Whenever I punch anything with it, I keep all the punches that I didn't use from that 'batch' for another time. Less paper waste, less work for me.

Is that the actually name - Nestabilities Labels Die? I did an ebay search and found nothing and looked at several online stores and found nothing. Hope to find it somewhere because I have been wanting something like this too..TIA
Anne already bought the set that was on ebay. BUT, Marcopaper.com has the Spellbinders Nestabilities Labels TRIO on this page. I had not seen that set before. Although I don't think is is as skinny as the word window punch, it looks like something I might use. I also like the looks of the Ribbon Tags.

[QUOTE=IMBlessed5;10549098]I have seen that same punch at HL! Get it when they have a 40% off coupon and it's a great deal!
i was wondering if you ever had trouble with this style/brand of punch getting jammed and permanently and unable to use? i had that experience with a large flower punch and ended up discarding it in frustration!
Depending on how many punched out pieces you wanted, if it is just a few couldn't you just cut out the appropriate-sized rectangles and use a corner rounder on the corners (or place a penny on the inside of the rectangle and use your craft knife to remove the corners)? That way you could at least have your pieces and not waste too much paper...
There is a product called "Strong Arm" to use with those punches that are so hard to press down. ACMoore has had them, but I'm not sure where else. Cost was $15-$20, but you can use a coupon. It has a platform, a hinge to act as the fulcrum, and an arm as long as the platform. Put your punch onto the platform at the marked place; put your paper in the punch; pull down on the arm and - shazam - the extra leverage has made your difficult punch easy to use.
