Default SU watercolor crayons

I am interested in getting the SU watercolr crayons for the method of using them directly on the stamp, light spray of water then stamp on watercolor paper. It sounds easy. I am interested in hearing from anybody who had used this method. Does it work? Is it as easy as it sounds? Thanks for your help.

Hi! I've used that method and it really does work--even on regular card stock instead of watercolor paper. I've also colored on my stamps and then huffed on them (take a really deep breath and blow out that moist air over the coloring on the stamp) and then stamped on card stock, and that worked too.

I love the versatility of my SU watercolor crayons.

I hope this helps!

i have also used la plume markers on the stamps, spraying with a fine mist before stamping on watercolor paper.

i got almost the same effect as with the water color crayons.....

I just did a tutorial on my blog with this method just a few days ago.

http://kraftinwithkathy.blogspot.com...rial-part.html

The post the next day is in regards to coloring in line images.
The only thing that takes some practice is how far and how much water to spray on stamp. I found about 6 inches away and a light mist works best.

It works, the crayons are great to play with. I like to pick up the color with a aqua painter and color with it.

I love my watercolor crayons. I have never tried the technique talked about at the beginning of the thread but it sounds neat. What got me off the fence about buying the watercolor crayons is that they divided up the color families now instead of paying about 60 at once for the whole set you can pay 20 for one family. You do end up spending more in the long run, but for me it is nice not to have to spend so much at once. I even got mine as hostess free products over several parties (that was sweet)
