Cool SU must haves

I am just trying to get started, and make sure I have everything that I "need". Can anyone give me some suggestions on things are are a "must have". I have some of the varity pack papers, and the stamp spots for those papers, but not much else. Can any one give me some suggestions?
Oh yes, and I do have a few different stamp sets. What stamp sets are "must have" and what product is also "must have".

Thanks everyone!

Ribbon, ribbon, ribbon. I put ribbon on almost every project that I make.
(get involved in a swap so that you can have a variety).

I would also highly suggest brads because they add a nice touch too (and they are not expensive).

Happy stamping!!!!!!

I would recomend a good paper cutter, markers/watercolor crayons, adhesive, stamp cleaner, good scissors, there is so much more but if you are just starting out start out slow because as you get into this craft you can spend a lot of money on so many wonderful things. Keep coming back to SCS for more ideas and insperation. Good luck.

Wow, good question. I'm assuming you have a paper cutter, ink, adhesive and the other necessities. If you JUST limit it to SU!, and you're just getting started, I would say that you began in the right place with coordinating paper and ink - good thinking.

Natch stamps sets, are a must; I would suggest finding a few basics - perhaps something for all-year stamping (1 stamp/occasion), a nice floral set, a BD set, sentiments, and a Christmas set. Also, maybe something for the kids, something for guys, but then, "basic" is subjective. I'm avoiding specific set names b/c you need to choose what you like.

Are you a colorer? If so, you'll want markers pretty quickly.

Embellishments go a long way to take the end-item from nice to ooh-la-la.

I'm sure you'll get some super input; hopefully this was a little help in the meantime.

Default SU must haves?

Let's see, Baroque Motifs, Wonderful Words (I think that's it - it's swoopy handwriting of Thank You, Celebrate, Love, Friendship) Short and Sweet. These are current sets that I have and reach for frequently. Save your money on stamp cleaner and make your own, but it's so worth it to get a stamp and scrubbie from SU. The scissors are available at better prices elsewhere. Gotta have the paper, markers, and the stamps! There is so much out there! If you have a credit card and a computer, before long, you will be asking yourself how to create more room for all of your stuff!

My fav's are the ribbon, paper, Punches(Scallop, Word Window, and Tab Punch are my fav), clear envelopes, ink, markers. You can buy things like versamark pads, glue dots etc at Michaels cheaper or with a coupon. I only buy SU only stuff from SU.

So cool! Thanks so much for all the great help. I do have a cutter, 8 different scisors for different things, envelopes, paper and matching ink.
I don't have any punches yet, but I should look into these. Also, can I find matching ribbon to the paper? And, how do we use that.. clear paper stuff?

The ribbon does match the paper and ink, just look on the ribbon page in the catalog. The scallop edge, scallop circle and word window punches are "must haves". Have fun!

What do you mean by clear paper stuff?
There are definitely great ribbons in the SU catalog. My favorite is the taffeta. It is so easy to work with!
As for punches, I love the ticket corner punch, scallop border punch and scallop circle punches the best. I am wanting the curly label bundle to get that adorable punch and the coordinating stamp set!

I agree with the punches above and add the word window punch. I have to have blender pens and the markers are great. Stamp sets that I love are Always, True Friend and canvas or linen backgrounds.
