Question SU! Color Coach -- worth it???

I have debated the color coach for a long time now, is it worth it? My debate with myself is -- why spend $9.95 on a color wheel, I already have color wheels. But this is specific to the SU colors.

Thoughts????

I debated it for a long time too, but I did finally buy it. I like that it is specific to SU colours. Sometimes I will be sitting there wondering what will look best with a particular colour. The wheel always helps. I have not regretted the purchase at all and I refer to the wheel quite often. Hope that helps in your decision!

Absolutely buy one. You can come up with some great combos with it.

I love it and use it every time I make a card or layout. While the colors are speficially SU I can come close with the other papers I have and get nice combos!

I got it and I have to say I have rarely used it, even before I found SCS. Now though, I NEVER use it because I pull all my ideas from here in the galleries and the color challenges. I got it as a present so at least I'm not out anything:-) But IMO if you are on here it's not worth it.

My color coach is in my top 10 maybe even my top 5 favorite tools!!! It has helped me us up a lot of my printed card stock and has really helped break my paper hoarding habbit. It makes is so much easier to put colors together.
It has even helped me pick out clothes and accessories some days. I love it!!!

I love my Color Coach. It is one of my "go to" tools when I'm trying to come up with a new color combo for a project.

I have one and I don't regret buying it at all. The biggest thing I use it for is to match up non SU dp. Instead of getting out scraps of all the different cs, I just pull out my color wheel and use that. I love it!

It's interesting to see such variation in responses. I have the Color Coach and almost NEVER use it. Because it is sooo limited, IMO0. For example just the other day (not specific because I don't recall the exact color names), I was looking for a color to use with Bordering Blue and I wanted a REDDISH color, but there is NO RED in the complimentary box....the colors shown in there were all tooooo country or girly (and I was making a masculine card), so it was no help at all.
just an example but it seems to happen a lot to me!
I have a "general" color wheel and use that so much more often because it has complementary, triadic, quadratic, etc. schemes.
I guess if you don't already have something in mind it would help to generate combos...

This site is awesome. I like the fact that the in colours and past in colours are included. I do have the colour wheel and I love it. I was NEVER going to cave, couldn't see the need....then my sister got one. Wow. Helped me think outside the box. I was always tempted to be matchy-matchy. The colour wheel helped break that. Two thumbs up!

I have a color coach and rarely, if ever, use it. In fact, it's stored in a folder. I was disappointed with it.

I almost never use mine. Every once in a while, maybe once a year, I pull it out. But that's about it. I did use it a lot when I first got it. Now I use this site or Laura's color website. But to be honest, I use my PTI paper more lately!

I have the old one and the new one and like them both. I think the answer to your question depends on you and your "style". Sometimes I feel like I use the same old combinations of colors over and over again and I don't always feel confident when I try new ones. The color coach has made that much easier for me. If you want guidance with colors - yep its a great tool. Some of my friends can just pick colors easily and don't need it. Andrea

I picked it up but hadn't really started using it until lately and I love it! It helps me with a jumping off point, it was the inspiration for these cards...

I use mine ALOT! Because I'm very color challenged otherwise. I also use the charts that SU provides for the "In Colors". Very helpful.

I rarely use mine. If I could go back in time I wouldn't buy it. In fact, many of the colors that are put together on the wheel I don't actually like together. There's so much information online that's free if I need it.

i bought one ..and it became one of my 'regrets" I finally ended up giving it to someone in Great Britain who didn't have it available to her .

I actually found I didn't CARE for the color combos that were suggested.

I gave mine to my sister when she became an SU demo....I'd never used it and don't miss it.

I used to use it, but then my sister made me a cardstock ring and now I only use that.
