So, I am new to all this fancy craft, and just picked up some clear mount SU stamps. It seems of good quality, but in all honesty I like the plain clear stamps. Since I have not yet used it, I will have to wait to give a more fair judgement.
Anyway, I tried to mount on the clear block that I have and the darn thing does not stick. Does that absolutely require the SU block too? I would like to order another set, but if I need their block I am have to reconsider.
No keep it on. I thought that maybe you did not put it on. Never tried this but what if you dampen the side of the stamp that sticks to the block? I really have not had this issue so I am sorry that I cannot help. I do like the clear stamps more for the ease of storage and the fact that it takes up so much less space.
The SU clear stamps don't cling as readily to the acrylic blocks as I am used to with other companies's stamps. I have to remember to lean on the block with the stamp under it to make sure it adheres . Slightly dampening the back of the stamp does help. They do stamp very nicely!
You can also "huff" on the stamp. Then press firmly for a few seconds onto the block. You can use any kind of block. The stickers are slightly less sticky than the foam. Some people prefer to leave the stickers off.
I think that rubber (from any company) holds ink better than clear acrylic.
I have found that when I have trouble keeping the stamp to cling on the acrylic block, I wash the block with soap and water. This removes any oils my hands left on the block and seems to work just fine.
I will try them and then if all fails I will see the demo this coming tuesday and will check with her. Thank you for helping out. Be well
Miriam
I myself like to have the sticker on the stamp so I can see what the stamp is. If all the other suggestions fail, then you can put a dab of tombo multi on the sticker, spread it around and let it dry, that will make it stick to the block. I did this with my old SU sets that I had not wood mounted. It is worth it, I love SU stamps!
I huff on my block to get the stamps to stick better. Also the stamps will not stick at all if the block and the stamp are cold. My studio is separate from my house and has no heating system-I use a space heater- so in the morning and evenings when my studio is still cold I use my heat tool to warm up the block.
Having a clean and "room temperature" block makes all the difference in the world. I also know some people that use Dotto adhesive to temporarily add extra stick to the stamps (especially the smaller ones that don't have as much surface area to cling to the block with.

Thank you much for all the replies. I tried this morning one of the smallest on the set and it works somewhat. I will wash my blocks as I normally have lotion on my hands. I like the stamps, so I am sure something will work for me to use them.
Be well

I don't put the stickers on the stamps and they cling just fine without them. I stick the stickers to the inside of the storage box so each stamp has a place in the box and I know they're all in there. I'm always losing the little suckers on my stamp table!
I like having the stickers on mine, so I trim the stickers a bit before putting them on. This way I still get the image, but the tiny border of cling foam helps me get a better grip to the block.
Another tip to make sure you don't misplace stamps or to know if you're missing one is to keep the sheet of rubber that comes with the stamps (the one that you pop the stamps out of) and peel the backing off and stick the cling mount to the case. I sometimes forget which stamps go with which set, so this helps me out loads!

When my SU! stamps don't stick to the block, I ink them up by themselves, put then where I want them, then take the block and press on the stamp with it. The stamp sticks to it long enough to get it away from the paper, and it's easier to position the stamp where I want it.
