I went to my local home improvement store and got a 10' PVC gutter and cut it into two 5' pieces -- I mounted this to my wall to hold my ribbons and punches! HERE IS A LINK TO MY GALLERY SHOWING THE PIC
It's an outdated pic now as I have nearly every SU! punch and the bottom is totally full!!
In the bottom of the gutter I placed a strip of the shelf liner - that way the punches dont slip or fall down.
Great ideas here! I also use the now discontinued punch over the door holder but I use the SU! circles so much I want to keep them near my workspace. I work in an alcove over the garage and under the big peaks in our roof so I have little wall space so I can't use the great rod ideas posted here but I love it!. And since I'm such a messy worker I have little desk space but I'm seriously thinking of the DVD holder for the ones I want near me, I bet I could fit other frequently used items on the DVD rack too. Maybe I'll take one of the small punches w/me when I shop for it and make sure they fit on it. Thanks for the idea!
Now I have them in a small bin on the L shape part of my desk

This is what I have too for punches. My DH mounted the rails on thin white board (the kind from Home Depot I think it's called shower board?) and then onto the wall. I still need to put some molding around the edges to make it look a little nicer. Also need to clean up so I can finally take pictures I only have 2 rods so just my most-used ones are there. The others are in clear over-door shoe holders in my closet like someone here posted. Kim
I kept my punches in a drawer and was constantly worried because the drawer was so heavy! I kept waiting for it to break. Now here is what I did yesterday:
My husband put in white peg board with hooks for my punches. The peg board is secured to the back of the open bookcase shelves. This system works great for me. The punches that can't hang are on set on the shelves.

Oh, to have a room where I could actually put racks on the walls! I'm in my family room and it's so inconvenient. Maybe if I could get DD to move out I could take her room - bwahaha! Right now my punches are in a plastic drawer thingy in a room on the other side of the house!
I use this awesome Craftsman tool cart. It is heavy duty and I have all of my punches (and I have tons) in one drawer. I also put my ink pad spinner on the top, as well as my cuttlebug, so there is tons of room...Well worth the price (I think!!) Craftsman Cabinet
OMG. I just love this idea. We are having gutters put on my father in laws house. Now I'll have to scope out the scraps. Waste not want not. Besides, DH is paying for the gutters, might as well get something more usefull out if it besides letting the rain collect in there
My friend's dad, who is like a dad-once-removed to me, is very handy and retired and his wife is in a home, all of which adds up to his having time to build me this little beauty. He's working on a second one. I found a picture on eBay of something similar and made some additional suggestions such as pegboard on the sides and a lip at the top for storage.
I've got one of those tool chests with small drawers (normally for putting screws, nails, etc. in)--you can get them at Target for about $15, and they can be mounted on a wall.
I punch the image and adhere it to the front of the clear drawer to show me which punches are in that drawer--it's a great visual. The bigger drawers hold big punches and the smaller ones hold littler punches.
If it is a supersized punch, I use a 3-drawer plastic cabinet (available at Target again) and label it.
Laura - I use towel racks pictured here//www.splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/photo/543496?cat=500&ppuser=54910 - they are 20" long found at IKEA. Any strong towel rack will work. I have added 8 in total across the wall now.

I found a CD holder at a thrift store for 99 cents...it works like a charm but now its too small..... I need to find another one!!! LOL I just realized I don't have a photo of it, but it looks just like the DVD rack a in a previous post (in the 30s somewhere...sorry!!!)
I have mineon the Longaberger wrought iron tabletop bakers rack. it has 2 shelves and the wood shelves. But if you take off the shelf the punches sit on the bars. It is perfect and it is right in front of me on my table
I definitely need help with my storage system for punches. At the mo, most of them are in a plastic box which is very heavy.
Like the idea of the clear shoe hanging bags.

I have my punches on a shoe rack from Ikea! It cost me about $3 and if I outgrow one, it's not too expensive to get another! I can always convert them back to a shoe rack too! I use the bottom shelf for some neat boxes I found at Ikea (love that place) too! If you go look at my blog you can see where I have it and where I store my inkpads. I am not crazy about the inkpad storage but it works for now! Here's a link to my picture;
I have been sitting here for 1/2 an hour watching a slide show of how everyone places their materials in different ways. I have one question. With the exception of one. Almost everyone I viewed used a single table to work at. My tendency is to fill up the table then all of a sudden I have no space to work on. Any suggestions on the ideal table?

I think an L-shaped table/desk would be wonderful and I was drooling over one at Staples that had a hutch as well, but couldn't bring myself to buy it. I keep plastic 3-drawer bins under both sides of my table and pull them out for extra table space when I'm stamping. I'll stick my box full of scrap paper on one end and my cutter on the other.
Thanks for your idea. I'll go over when the snow clears and check out Staples. I also saw two tables pushed together. I have lots of space in the room. I just haven't gotten "the idea" to shake all other ideas to make my room a multi functional room. I'm also a watercolorist so I like space to paint and play on the floor.
Another vote for an L-shape. I started with a desk which my brother was throwing out. The drawer was broken so I pulled it off and where one of the screw holes was I screwed in a cup hook and now my heat gun hangs from this. It is underneath handy but also out of the way and I can re-hang it even it is still warm. I then bought another table from a hardware store this has on it my computer, Xyron personal cutter, and in the corner my TV and my Ott-lite. I can easily put things aside to dry etc without taking up space on my main work space.

I'm not sure how many punches you have, but the item I'm currently using is a rack that I found at Target in the kitchen organizer section. It may be a dish drying rack, but it's white coated wire slots on 4 legs about 6 or 7 inches off the table. I put the base of the punch between a slot w/ the label facing toward me. It's the only way I use them - if they're out of sight, they're out of mind! Good luck and happy stamping!
