Default Storage of Ink Cartridges

How do you store your ink cartridges??? I have both the standard and the jumbo wheels that I need to store. I have tried using the cases that the background stamps come it, but that doesn't seem to work. What works for you? Thanks for sharing!

I have the wheel storage locker from www.craftlocker.com. It's not cheap, but they are so great. The bottom drawer is supposed to be for the handles, but since I have those are on my pegboard, I put the cartridges there instead.

I use the plastic stamp cases that have the dividers in them, like the ones we get with an alphabet stamp set. They work perfectly for both sizes.

I use the plastic cases too - probably the one size bigger than the background stamp cas.

try an embroidery floss plastic storage case, the kind that has dividers in it that can be moved. Then you can store the jumbo cartridges too.

Me too! They're not quite perfect ... but they work well enough. They're also SU! so customers can see other uses for the cases.
They're also good for storing reinkers.

I also use the channelled storage stamp cases that SU! sells. These are like the ones that alpha & incentive sets come in.

I have one for my regular and another for my jumbo ink cartridges.

To keep the lids on the cartridge tight I use those ouchless elastics in black.

To identify the colours easily I put small white labels on the top lid and write the colour on it and a sample done with the matching marker.

This works for me!

Whatever the storage you use, I'd suggest a rubberband to hold the lid on each cartridge.

I use those things with all the little clear drawers you get in the hardware store for nails, bolts, etc. It holds my reinker bottles and ink cartridges in the same drawer. I think my 60 drawer case was about $12 and hangs on the wall or it could set on a counter. I have each drawer labeled. It holds EITHER a jumbo or reg. sized cartridge and a reinker bottle. Lynn

Kids Connection car box!!!!!! I have three of them. One for 48 refills, one for wheel cartridges and one for over flow refills. They are $4.88 if you can find them at the local wally world. I bought some not to long ago and I am harbouring them as goodie gifts. My new downline will get one for making Stampin Start this month! Yeah Arielle!

You can fit one jumbo cartridge per slot and two small ones per slot.

For those who use the storage boxes with the dividers (page 235, item F-7 in the IB&C), do these work well for both the jumbo & the regular size ink cartridges? How many regulars can you fit in one storage box? I'm considering getting these for my ink cartridges, but wanted to double check before forking out the money.

Thanks in advance for all your input!

I think they work great for the regular cart. I get 18 standard in one. As for jumbo cart they do work the lid doesn't close tight so I stack the standard cases on top to hold the lid down. For the jumbo cart. I get 12 in each one. Then I label the ends with what color family is in their. I think they are awsome and don't take up a lot of space either.

I like all of the ideas here. I keep mine in a large ziploc bag and each individual cart in a mini ziploc. They were in a storage unit for a year (and I live in TEXAS were the summers sometimes go over 100 degrees, so you can only imagine how hot it can get in a metal sealed bulidling that sits in the balzing sun all day). Anyway, they all were like new when I went to use them about a year and a half later!

But you would have thought SU! woould have thought about storing these.

I use the storage cases that the background stamps come in - I have most of the cartridges - jumbo and standard for each family and can fit one family per box.

I use a clear box that I found in the fishing dept. at Walmart. It sounds very similar to the embroidery container mentioned above. At less than $1(maybe $2 now, I've had mine for 5 years or so), you can't beat it and it holds 20 regular cartridges (or 10 jumbo, or a number in between when mixing the two). They fit with room to spare so there is no fear about it staying closed.

I also use the clear rectangle box that has dividers. I guess these are sold for beads or whatever. Then I punch out a small shape in the color of the ink cartridge and glue it on the top of the lid over the cartridge. When I am looking for a certain ink color, it is sooo easy to find.

I store mine in the little drawers (set of 3) you can buy at target, but that's because I have my stamp room set up that way. You can see it here

12 of the jumbo cartridges and 18 of the regular cartridges. Here's a photo, if you need a visual:

hhhmmmm....guess I need to order some more of those clear boxes for just such a purpose. I am driving myself nuts by just tossing them into a box and then digging around trying to find what I need, would be far better to label a spot at the bottom so I can know what is missing very quickly! Jan
