Default Stampin' Write Markers Drying Up!!

First of all I keep all my markers in the plastic case they came in and have them laying on their sides. The brush part of the marker is fine. It's the part that you write with that is drying up on almost all my markers. What am I doing wrong. I hardly ever use that part so I know it's not because of that. Carol

Is the case stored in a cool, dry location? (out of the sunlight?)

I have had mine for years now and they're fine. Are yours old or relatively new? If new, check with your SU demonstrator.

I've read that some folks have used ink refills to refresh their SU markers. Might want to try that.

ummmm... I've heard that this is to be expected with the newer style... not aneducated opinion, just something I've read about around here.

If you want to use the journaling end just put it in a container for 15 mins. before you want to use it with the journaling end down, and you should be fine

All of mine have dried up as well. The brush is fine. I have tried all the tricks in the book too.

I saw on here where someone made In Color markers, dismantling old ones, rinsing, and filling with ink refil - I'm not sure where I saw it, I know it was on SCS, but if you can do that, then you should be able to re-ink them the same way. Just a thought, it would be aweful to have to purchase all new :o

May be time to switch to Copics? Aren't there Copic colors that are comparable to the SU colors? Copics are refillable -- both ink and nibs. In the end, well worth the inve$tment.

This is the case with a few of mine. But then I hardly ever use the writing end. You definitely CAN reink your markers. I do it all the time. It's really simple.

First off, do this over scrap paper and don't wear your best clothes in case you get some excess ink on you. Using tweezers, gently grasp the tip and pull straight out. Set the tip aside somewhere where you won't lose track of it. Put 3 to 4 drops of reinker into the pen tube. Truly, that's all it takes. Don't add more or it will squish out when you reinsert the tip. Put the tip back in by holding it again with your tweezers and re-inserting it until it can't go in any further. Scribble on scrap paper to get the ink into the tip and you are ready to go.

Default Dried up markers

I want to thank everyone who replied to my post on this subject. Refilling the markers works. I find that after refilling them and letting them sit with the tip down for a few minutes that they work just fine. Now I can tell my customers. Carol
