Question Stampin Up Shaper Punch

I bought this punch at a garage sale and have no idea what it is used for. Are there some cards made with this punch? I don't know if it is called a tag punch or what it is called but I figured you girls know more than I do about these older punches and their uses.
Thank you

That's the Paper Piecing punch, last seen in the 2006-2007 catalog. Having the name may help you search for images a little easier.

I thought it was a tag piecing punch. I will do a search for the Paper Piecing punch then. Thanks.

Brenda, I found one card using this punch out of 250 pages I looked through. Must not have been a popular punch. Thought I would have seen more cards.

Oh gosh. I still have that punch. Although I remember playing around with it, I don't remember making a single card with it.

I would probably use it to punch out small greetings and banners.

Scrapjanny, the cut outs are so small I don't even have any word stamps that would fit. Here is the one card I found that used it. Will probably make a few like this by Jennyo a simple card but pretty.

I think it was originally featured in one of the scrapbook-specific catalogs SU1 had for a short time. It was used to build borders on pages and to highlight specific words in journaling boxes, as well as cards like the sample in the previous post. I still have it and use it!

I was hoping to see more out there with this punch. I even googled it and not one creative thing shown except the punch pic itself.

Could it be used in making paper beads?

Bingo! You have a winning idea!! I think back to the days in elementary school (WAY back in time!) and we would scour the magazines for pages that had densely colored pages. I was always on the hunt for pages that showed green leafy trees and blue oceans....I’m still a green and blue gal to this day!

Anyway, back to the present. That punch is probably ideal for use with the gorgeous single or double sided designer papers that we now have a great abundance of! Yet one more thing to be thankful for on this Thanksgiving Day.
Those paper bead necklaces were so funky and I just came upon one in my mother-in-laws jewelry collection as a recent reminder of this fun vintage craft.
Thanks for thinking of this idea for the punch, it’s a great one!
