Has anyone else experienced trouble getting the caps off the blendabilities. I was working on the blended bloom and took the cap off one of them to move to another petal and it splattered all over my project, table, and me. I find the caps are very hard to remove. Any suggestions?

Thank you, I didn't think of that. I used a piece of rubber drawer liner, it helped but I think my biggest problem is due to arthritis is my hands, I don't have enough strength. Very hard to get them off. Your tip did help!
My caps are tight but I haven't had trouble getting any off. I'm actually glad they are tight, I'm hoping it will help them not dry out, some of my Spectrum Noir didn't have tight caps and they've dried out quicker.
I absolutely love these.
I never bought COPICS because I think I am allergic to them. I went to a huge expo at one time a couple years ago, and started to color a pumpkin with the COPIC marker.
I started sneezing and my eyes were watering.
I am so happy Stampin' Up! came up with the Blendabilities line.
I do have one problem though with ONE COLOR! Coastal Cabana.
Has anyone gotten theirs and they are dry? I opened my replacement package and the medium one is dry and really SQUEAKY! Anyone else have this problem?
I sent a note to Stampin' Up! today and waiting on their response.
They replaced the set free of charge to me, but, the replacement one is doing the same thing.
I guess I am in the minority here. I am SO disappointed with the blendabilites markers. They are cheaply put together (in my opinion)... plastic barrel would get brittle and crack. I bought all markers that they had available. I am getting refund. :-(
I am a new demonstrator for Stampin' Up! and I have a customer asking if she has to use Memento ink to stamp the image or can she use Staz-on ink? I wasn't sure what the difference between the two are, so hopefully someone might be able to help me out with this one.
I have some I haven't even used yet and they have dried up. I'll stick to my Copics that I have had for several years and not one has dried up. I have had to refill a few them because I used them a LOT.

The Alcohol Markers will cause the StazOn to bleed. I have used mostly Memento Tuxedo Black but also use Stamp Up Chocolate Chip, Early Espresso, and few of the darker colors to stamp and then color.

My pink set came in a package for Bermuda Bay....lol I like these too.
So far I have every set thats available. Cant wait to see if they do more colors.
Blessings
I have all sets but two and will order them at card class on the 5th. I love using them. Sometimes I use Memento Tuxedo Black to stamp and sometimes I stamp in versafine black onyx and emboss with clear embossing powder. The versafine black stays wet long enough to add the powder and I hate using black embossing powder. I always get black flecks on the card where I don't want it, even after using the embossing buddy.

My pink came in the Bermuda bay package also. I have not opened any of them yet but I would hope they are not dried out.

My Bermuda Bay came in Bermuda Bay packaging so they weren't all messed up! LOL And my pink were in Pink box. That's funny that you both had pink in Bermuda Bay box. I wonder who was working that shift on the packing line! LOL Probably someone on the late shift. I know I get silly when I am tired!

I've only gotten calypso coral. Got them free with SAB! The caps are coming off easy. I have read they are sometimes are a pain in the keister. I really love how smoothly they color!
Fingers crossed for refillable Blendabilities. Us big girls and our big girls "crayons!" Don't you love we channel our inner child and have begun coloring again?
Our executive director at work just mailed out an email on the benefits of coloring. Turns out she has coloring books in her office, markers and a box of 68 crayons. She said she has had coloring opportunities @ staff meetings in the past. I only started working there 8 months ago.

Ive heard many say that coloring was very relaxing, but it isn't for me. Well, maybe the actual coloring might be. My frustration comes in deciding what colors to use!
SU has pulled all Blendabilities products from their inventory, as of a couple of days ago, because of quality control issues. This was told to me yesterday by a SCS member and verified by a SU demonstrator today at a workshop I attended. No date set for re-instating the products and they are not taking backorders right now.
This total bummed me out because I had several sets on my list to order, as well as free sets of Blendabilites for SAB. : I guess it did save me from getting defective sets, but it's still disappointing.
Just opened a new set of blendabilities and one of them doesn't work--right out of the package! So disappointed!
Same with me. I bought Night of Navy about a month ago. Used it for the first time last night and the middle color wasn't coloring. It's drying up. I also HATE the way Blendabilities squeak on the paper. I've decided it's Copics only for me. Fortunately I've only bought one set of the Blendabilities.

I'm not crazy about them either. I did purchase all of the available colors, but won't be replacing any. First the colors seem a little gray, dark, or muddy; second they're overpriced (not refillable and must buy the set to replace one); third colors will be discontinued in time. I'll stick with my Copics, expensive in the beginning but cheap refills after that. One refill boittle will fill my Copic many times (less than 60-cents a refill), colors are beautiful, and colors are not discontinued.
Having read about the dry blendabilities, I decided to check all of mine. Found I have one Med Old Olive and one Natural (skin tones) that are dry. The most interesting thing I found was that my Calypso Coral set had one dark and two med markers--no light. hmmmm… Called SU this morning and they are offering to replace when they are available (maybe 2 weeks) and she gave me a reference number to call with. I was also given the choice to replace with another product in the same amount.

That's interesting since I was told to pick another item instead of my backorder redemption SAB Old Olive.
Not sure why you weren't given the option to replace when they are available. When I spoke to SU customer service rep, she did put me on hold to check on what options I had. Don't know if this may change as the more people call to replace markers, or if the issue isn't able to be resolved quickly. I may yet end up having to replace with other products. She told me to check back on the website to see if they become available again and then call back--I plan to check with my demo this week at stamp class to see if she has any other info.
Yes, I did as well. I was also told though that they are looking at alternate options.

Sure glad I didn't get any! Maybe SU will learn a thing or two from this. Having to buy a set when you only needed one, no refills, etc didn't make much sense to me. I guess Copic markers are more expensive for good reasons!

I don't see the connection between manufacturing/quality control issues and how they chose to offer them for sale. Selling them in three-packs didn't create quality issues.

Oops, I was unclear. I simply hope they offer any new version of alcohol markers differently. Obviously, the quality issue had nothing to do with how they were packaged.
I heard the same thing today from my demo, they are being discontinued. I have all the colors and have not even opened a pack! Guess I better check them out!

I only got one set and it was free through SAB. For me, I didn't see the sense in buying into these without refills. I finally made the copic plunge and asked for copics for Christmas.
I'm also a bit practical, so I just couldn't justify those packs of three with no option to buy a single marker to replace a dried up one.
I really love how blendies color....like them better than copics.
I had really high hopes for them. Oh well!

There is a wonderful color comparison chart posted in the "Copic to SU marker color comparison" thread, that tells you which Copics most closely match the current SU colors. Awesome! I'm pretty new to Copics, and I'm wondering... if I want to get the light, medium and dark shades of a certain color (like they had in the blendabilities), do I just get the next colors up and down from the one on the chart? For example, on the chart, it shows that Melon Mambo closely matches Copic RV29. Should I look for RV27 and RV31 as well? Is that how it works? I also notice that there are sometimes a few Copics listed next to a color, for example next to Daffodil Delight. Are those similar to the light, medium and dark shades that the Blendabilities offered? Has anyone tried the Copic blending trios?

Not exactly. Both numbers in the copic number matter. I think the first digit is like the tone and the second is supposed to be the intensity. (Sorry, all my artsy vocabulary is lacking. So, in your example, RV29 is the darkest of the 20s. RV27 is the same tone as 29, but 27 is a step lighter. But RV31 (well, RV32, there is no RV31) will be very pale compared to 29, not darker.
I posted this in another thread, but thought it was more relevant here:
Before they had discovered what the problem was, I had ordered the skin tones set - one of the 6 was dried out completely. I called SU! and they replaced the entire set (didn't ask me to send back the original set). The second set was fine. I then ordered the grey set, and again one was dry. I just called SU! when I heard about them pulling them from the shelves, and they have credited my Mastercard for the full amount of both sets, including the taxes paid (not the shipping, but that is because they were part of a larger order and I would have paid shipping anyway). No questions asked, no issues, just "yes, we've had some manufacturing problems, and we are so sorry about this - we'll just go ahead and credit you back for them". I sort of feel guilty, as I now have three sets - one with 5/6 working just fine, one with 6/6 working just fine and one with 2/3 working just fine - and I haven't paid a thing for them.....

Hand over the chocolate, and no one will get hurt!
Stampin' Up! Partnered with a reliable manufacturer for these markers. They found microscopic holes in the seam where the tips are attached which is what is causing some pens to dry out quickly. The manufacturer was finding a failure rate of 35%-40% before they were shipped to SU. This is why SU pulled the line. As soon as the quality issues exceeded normal tolerance levels, they pulled the line. This attention to quality is part of the reason I am a demo.
I like the Blendabilities more than Copics because you know the three colors will blend perfectly. I have a sense that they were looking at supplying refills before pulling the line. Hopefully they can find a new manufacturer who can also provide refills.
SU will credit you if you want to return them. However, they are now requiring that you send them back.
Am I the only one who is disappointed in SU Blendabilities? I guess there are a lot of ostriches out there. So glad I didn't bite into it as quickly as my friends. JMO
