I stamp cockeyed. Especially with those 3 step stamps. Now .. I'm droooling over several of the kitchen sink sets so .... Yay or Nay - tell me how necessary (and easy) the Stamp-a-ma-jig is, please.
I LOVE my SAMJ! For doing things that require perfect placement (like argyles), it's an absolute lifesaver! Also, if your stamps are not mounted straight, this will help so that when you stamp, the image is straight. I say get it -- it's not that expensive, and it's well worth the investment. You won't regret it -- I promise!

It took me a minute or two to figure it out (seems simple, but I just didn't get it at first) but now I LOVE my SAMJ...especially for sentiment placement, you can 'test' to see if there is more than one place you'd like to put it, and it will always be straight ;) Would likely be perfect for those KS Satmps too
It's not an expensive investment, I say totally go for it!!
For a simple tool - a square and a piece of acetate, it is probably the most useful tool. Especially if it is important to you to get your designs stamped straight. I've been using one for 10 years - waaaaay before Stampin Up ever started selling it. Wouldn't stamp without it!

Absolutely worth every penny - and of course you can buy it at a chain store with a coupon (ka-ching!) I don't use it all the time, but it's never too far away. It's not only great for aligning detailed images, but also for getting more mileage out of sentiment stamps - using only a few of the words in a specific place on an image, or transforming a single line into a smaller, 2 line design, etc. There's a great tutorial on the smARTworks site: http://smartrubber.com/smartsite_048.htm
One of my best purchases for stamping by far! I am the type of persone to add something last minute after the card is already assembled and I usually used to add it crooked and wreck my card :( - Not now
Wow! It must be useful with all the passionate responses. Score-pal - that's another one. Is the smaller one useful? I do cards - not pages.
I got the mini scor-it before my scor-pal and have not used it since. I would sell it, but I don't think anyone would want it. I also do cards mostly, and would not be without it. Now Diana has come out with the scor-mat that fits right on top of the scor-pal! She is truely a genious!

Ditto the ditto! It makes a huge difference, especially with sentiments.
I forgot to mention that it is SO good that I have TWO. One stays in my stamping room and the other gets to stay in my stamping tool bag. I've found it is so much easier to have duplicates of some of my favorite tools packed and ready to go.

Must add that I also love my SAMJ. It is so much easier to use you two-step stamps. Once you figure out how to use it; it is really simple. I also have the Score-Pal and Score Mat--love them both.

I have had my SMJ for years- honestly- i've tried it once at a get together- and have never used it since. Perhaps i need to pull it out and try it again- a workshop is not the best time to try something new ya know...

Ditto! Definitely worth every penny if you want things to be straight!!
The Stamp-a-ma-jig is a fabulous tool for perfect placement with your rubber stamps. But with the Kitchen Sink Stamps, you won't be using it. These stamps are clear so you see right through them for precise alignment!

Thanks, Lynn. I didn't realize that about the KS stamps.
I use mine every once in a while. (used it today). I use it for those hard to place, but need to be exact stamps. I've tried to use it when I make a goof on a stamp, too. It works.....sometimes.
I love my SAMJ and always use it....well, usually after I mess up 3 or 4 images by figuring I could "eyeball" it..... I don't know why I don't reach for it the first time!
I got tired of my sentiments always going downhill. Once I figured out the SAMJ, that problem was solved. I also use Stazon and keep the transparency in the box with the stamp set.
