Default Stamp A Ma Jig

Is it worth buying? It's not expensive or anything, but if it's not really worth it, i'll have $17 (CDN) to spend on stamps or cardstock

Definately worth buying!! I put off buying one for months and then decided to get one. I wouldn't be without it now and reckon that you should buy one when you buy your first stamp!

Love it, love it, love it!!!!!! :-D :-D

Yes, I use mine all the time. Once you get use to using it, you will be using it all the time.

Some of the uses include seeing that your words/sayings are staight before you stamp them on your card. Helping to line up your two step stamps, if you are a person that wants them as close to perfect as you can get. Or adding a special touch to a stamped image, such as having an animal wear a graduation cap and hold a diploma.

You can also use it to see if you want to add one last image to your card before you actually stamp it.

Thanks for the tips on uses for the stamp a ma jig. I bought one a few months ago but haven't opened the package yet.

Definately...It's sooo easy to use. I bought one and didn't use it for like 6 months, now as I stamp more, I find myself going to grab it more and more.

I also realized how bad I am at lining up and mounting my stamps...

For certain stamp sets, as well as creating words/scrapbook titles with my alphabet sets, I couldn't live without mine! Once you get it and use it, it will beome one of those tools where you wonder how you went so long without one!

It is an awesome tool!

Whenever I use it, I stamp on vellum and not the plastic that comes with it. I keep that vellum piece in the stamp case to use again and again...

Heard the hype, bought it, didn't use it, sold it. Still read the hype, bought it AGAIN and STILL don't use it. Why can't I get on this bandwagon? It just seems like it is more trouble than it is worth. I am usually a total "gadget" freak but I am just not feelin' the love for this one.

I love my SAMJ! I bought it along with my first stamp set. I use it ALL THE TIME. If I want to line things up straight, I pull it out. It does take some getting used to, but not long. It makes everything look more exact or purposely off centered.

That's a great tip. Thanks! I just got one because I hate not being able to line things up. I really like it.

Have you tried using it? If not, try it out. Kurtis did a great tutorial that explains how to use it.

Waited a long time to buy one. When I finally did, didn't bring it out much. Now I use it a lot. Standard stamping staple for me. I don't think I really improved that much over time but my cards look much better now - thanks to the precision I get with the Stamp a Ma Jig.

I picked it up cheap at JoAnn's and was worried, but when I use it I love it! It is so easy and everything lines up nicely.

Check your local craft stores to see if you can get it cheaper than $17cdn.

And don't spend $17 on it. I got mine for around $4 at Michael's with a coupon.

thanks everyone! i'll have to see if Michael's has it! And if it's cheaper, that's all the better LOL!

I was looking at Beate's blog yesterday and how she used the All In A Row stitched stamp and I don't know that I could do that without help, so that's what got me wondering about the SAMJ. I will definitely add it to my list of purchases!

I have two. One to stay in my stamping room, and one to travel. You can also buy extra plastic sheets in a package of three for 99 cents. (Online and at my LSS.)

Definitely worth it!

haha! I only bought it once and it sits in the drawer. I did remove it from the box. My stampers asked about it, I showed them how it worked, they said it was soo much work. I love gadgets as well, but after 11 years of stamping, I don't have much love for this one.

Love mine! I do the vellum thing and it's a great timesaver. And no more crooked sentiments, lol. I can't tell you how many cardfronts I'd ruined because the sentiment got stamped on an angle and it looked awful, but not anymore - the Stampamajig guarantees proper placement! Another thing that helps is when you stamp an image or sentiment and it didn't turn out evenly inked - with the Stampamajig in place, you can just reposition the stamp and do it again without having to worry about double lines - works like a charm!

I had a Stamp-a-Majig that sat still in its box for a year and never opened it. I finally remembered it yesterday when I was trying to do some two-step stamping. After seeing how simple it is to use, I thought to myself WHY did I not get it out months ago! You probably won't need it every time you stamp, but it is really a useful tool when you need to get your image "just right".
