Default sponging on glossy paper

I have an idea for something and I need to be able to make a blue sky and then add snowflakes to it. I remember a long time ago I stamped something in versamark and then added color. Did I use chalk or sponge on the ink? I believe I used glossy paper. I could use regular card stock and use a brayer, but I only have a ink spot and not a whole pad. Should I use a stipple brush? Any suggestions?

If you want to use glossy CS, I'd use your ink with a sponge.

You could use VersaMark on whisper white cardstock and chalk over that, and you could also ink with a sponge.

I wouldn't use VM & chalk on the glossy. I think it would stay too tacky.

Would you think about using Versarmark resist? Stamp the snowflakes with Versamark and emboss with clear or white EP before adding your blue. I'm assuming that you're aiming for white flakes on a blue sky. As to brush or sponge, they give different looks, so if it's a smooth look, a sponge would be the way to go.

I think I'll go get a new sponge and try both ways. Thank you for your suggestions.
