I know that everyone talks about Cricut and cuttlebug but does anyone have the machine from Spellbinders?
I can use any of the dies from sizzix, cricut and cuttlebug - not to mention stencils. I can also press in eyelets and flatten bottle caps.
Anyway - anyone considering a purchase of one I have to say - I've been very pleased the product and with their customer service.
I bought mine not too long ago and was trying it out. Not sure what I did wrong but I was running a cuttlebug die through and I snapped my plate in half. Lucky for me it didn't damage the die
I sent them an email explaining the situation --- they get right back with me and I found out that, apparently, I'm the first one to break one of their plates. So they were having fun with that for a while!;)
Anway - they sent me a complete new set - no charge. so now I'm back to playing.
If you buy their dies and stencils - they come in tidy CD jewels for easy storage.
Anyway - just thought I'd pass on a new die cut system
I have one and used the cuttlebug embossing folder and the slider tag die in it....no problems. The only thing I would say is that the "angle" in which you try to send the plates thu is important. Dont try and force them, adjust the angle and you should have no problems.
I have some of the Spellbinder dies and they are TOTALLY awesome. They not only cut, but emboss and then you can chalk with them too. AND now they have some stamps that go along with the dies as well! Oh how I would like more time to play with my new toys.
I'mt hinking that it was the angle I was trying to put the plates through that caused th e one to snap ... it was by first time trying a die.
I'm just call Spellbinders replaced it ...
I love their dies for the same reason you do EllenH - you can cut OR you can cut and emboss ...
Didn't know about the stamps though - going to have to check into them.
I know they have a hardware die and s snowflake die I want but the only place I know to buy them at is usually out.
I love my Wizard!! Besides all of the things that you mentioned, I like the fact that the darn thing is virtually indestructible. Are you a member of the Yahoo Group? http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Spellbinders-Wizard/
There is a lot of info in the Files section... like the Sandwich of the Week folder.

Wow Kimblerly - thanks for the info ... I'm gonna go check it out
I wanted one of the dies that is on clearance, but not sure about ordering it on line. The person at the local stamp store said she has a deal with Spellbinders and they will not take orders from people in this area since she sells the stuff. Do you think that is true?

I have no idea. But you could always double-check. Maybe there is an exception for clearance items or for merchandise that she ran out of and didn't re-order?
So am I right in understanding that the spellbinder, which looks similar to the sizzix can also use many of the dies from the other companies? I know that some of the other companies can interchange the dies also. I have a sizzix but notice that the other machines are getting really nice! I have been thinking that I might want another machine, but I don't have much time to play:( and feel like I have a lot invested in my sizzix already.
mjvarney - yes. I se cuttlebug dies, fiskar texture templates, spellbinder dies, sizzix dies with my wizard. I had to buy the charm adapter kit (abot $15) so that I could use the fiskar and cuttlebug templates, but it is very versatile!
