Default Something similar to Crystal Effects?

Is there anything similar to Crystal Effects that I can buy at Michael's? I don't have time to wait for SU shipping. Thanks in advance!!!

Yes there is. I can't recall what it's called but it is in a similar bottle.

Ranger makes a similar product - I think it's called Glossy Accents.

The stuff I have is called Crystal Lacquer, and it's made by Sakura. The only noticeable difference between it and SU's product is the label on the bottle.

Yep--Glossy Accents. Michaels sells it. At my local store it's in the aisle with the Tim Holtz products.

I use the Ranger Glossy Accents, too and LOVE them a million times more than SU!'s CE. For some reason the CE always made my ink run and the Ranger product does not, I'm very happy with it

I have several of the ones that have been named and they all work well. I also like to use Delta Polyurethane/Varnish, it comes in a little bottle too, I use it when I want something to be really shiny, like eyes. Not sure if it is acid free though.

It's a liquid dimensional adhesive to be precise, lol. There are lots of different brands of it, and they're all roughly the same. I call it the duct tape of a stamper's arsenal, lol. LOVE this stuff and use it for lots of different things. It's a fantastic glue. It's self-leveling and dries in a mound unless brushed out. the Sakura brand comes in several colors besides the clear. If you can't find one in the stamping aisle, look over in the aisle with all the glues. You'll probably find some there as well.

I love Crystal Lacquar myself- it is exactly the same as SU sells. I Love the fact it comes in a nice range of colors and very reasonable in price. I own the Clear Crystal Lacquar along with 18 different colors. I also have ranger Glossy Effects- good stuff use it quite often. Paper Glaze is the first stuff I tried- not my favorite but it is OK.

I've tried several different ones and Crystal Lacquer is my favorite. Reason? The bottle is made of slightly softer plastic just enough to make squeezing easier on my hand.

Diamond Glaze is another name on the market put by Judikins but I'm not sure if Michael's stocks it.

For the Michael's question.
I use Scribbles 3D paint. I love it and comes in many colors.
My favorite is Glittering Crystal.

Where do you get it in different colors? This I must have.

Well, I might have something similar to it. They are in squeeze tubes that made by Sakura of America. They come in a pearlized set of colors, a sparkly set of colors and just a variety of colors.

Are they what you are talking about? If so I heart them very much and have been using them for years. IF NOT, I really need the ones you are talking about.

I agree with all the products mentioned, and if you can get them locally, great. However, if you have to order products online, I can't see how you can beat SU. I get my order in no more than 4 days, which is faster than anywhere else I order, as I am rural. Good luck in finding you product(s).

jeanne3579 -- you are so lucky! it takes ten days minimum for an SU order to reach me (including picking, packing, shipping, travel, etc.). I'm in Alabama.

I have used Aleene's paper glaze, didn't like it - too runny, caused some images to bleed and takes forever to dry. My favorites are Glossy Accents by Ranger or Diamond Glaze by Judikins.

Personally, I have 3 brands here ... But I always choose Ranger's Glossy Accents, unless I'm simply needing a "clear adhesive". Why?
  • Not as runny
  • Quicker to dry
  • No/fewer 'bubbles' (I really get disgusted with 'bubbles'.)
As usual, this one often comes down to a user's personal preference. ;)
