Do I put it through 3 time red, white and black and piece it together, sorry but I am new at this and I don't understand how this one works?
Thank you everyone for helping! |
I cut my paper to the size of the die, in red, white and tan and also black (for the boots and the belt - if you have the same Santa I do). Stack them 3 at a time, run it through. If it's not super heavy cardstock it will cut through 3 just fine, you don't want to do more than three or the layer closest to the die will cut through parts it shouldn't cut all the way through.
I use the skin tone as my base. You will snip off with some paper snips the bits for the red, layer those on your tan. With the Hat, I do the WHOLE hat from the red, snip it off, layer it on the tan. Then snip of the beard and cuffs for the white, as well as the trimming on the hat and layer that on. Last will be the black for Santa's belt and boots. Layer those on top and then you are good to go.
Once you get in your groove it actually goes very fast. It's a LOT easier if you have a little Xyron X or a Xyron 2.5" to run the boots/belt through and the white bits for santa's hat - at minimum, a tape runner (ATG, SNAIL, EZ-RUnner, etc.) or glue dots.
Let me know if you have any questions - paper piecing is actually quite fun! (I'm a die cut addict.)
