Default sizzix/big shot ?

Will the sizzix and/or big shot cut through chipboard? I have several of those cardboard inserts that come in the CM pages and page protectors that are about the weight of chipboard and I would love to make some mini albums with them.

TIA!

I have cut that kind of chipboard with mine original bigshot and it worked great! I even cut chipboard with my old sizzix and the sidekick as well.

Okay then my next question is do the Stampin' Up dies for the big shot fit and work in the sizzix machine? You know the red one with the handle.

The Bigz dies will NOT fit in the old red sizzix machine you are talking about. I had to upgrade to the big shot for that very reason

Aw man, I was hoping to get the top note and scallop circle die cut from SU. So those won't fit, correct? I want to find one to make some mini albums with, any suggestions? Am I going to have to resort to ebay?

I could get the sizzlets dies from SU but just have to have the converter to go with it, correct? I may could make some nice mini albums from the tag one.

You can get a Big Kick (same machine as the Big Shot, but white & red instead of black & pink) at Mike's, Jo's, etc. Use the 50% coupon and it's under $50 for the machine. It'll cut anything and can accommodate any die.

The Big Kick is different than "the old red Sizzix." The Big Kick has a little bit of red on the top part where you hold it and on the handle, and the underside of the base is red. I think sometimes people may be talking about one "red machine" when they mean one "machine with a bit of red" and vice versa!

The thin Sizzlits dies are not meant to cut chipboard.

With some shims or the Sizzix multi-platform (it's like a book with various thicknesses of shims), you can use Sizzlits in a Big Shot/Big Kick.
