Default Sizzix 5 point 3-D star- how do you.....?

How do you mount the Sizzix Bigz 5 point 3-D Star to anything ot get it to keep it's shape without bowing in and out? If you put 2 back to back how do you attach them?

I looked on the Sizzix site with no luck. Help!

Rosiedog......I believe it's supposed to be open in the back. There are other Sizzix star 3D dies that do have a back to them.

For the one you are talking about, I suppose you could put tabs on the edges of the points at the bottom and top to attach two together. I would build it one piece at a time rather than attaching one whole side then tryng to attach a back in one piece.

It should work, but will be a bit tedious to do.

Other choice may be to put tabs on star and attach it to a piece of paper/card. Obviously, you would need to be careful that it doesn't get crushed.

I've seen the star done with just the front and hanging with the back to a wall or something solid. Looked very nice.

I have the Sissix die rather than from SU, but because I didn't have a crease pad it said I needed, have done nothing with it. I finally got my crease pad and hopefully will get a chance to play with it this weekend. Hope it is worth all of the time and effort. It does look complex and I don't like complex.

Actually, you don't need the crease pad for the star or any of the Sizzix dies that are scored. You can see the score lines, they are just a bit faint. The crease pad will make them more visable.

If that's the only reason you're purchasing the crease pad, don't bother. In my opinion, you can see the fold lines clearly enough after just running through the cutting of the machine for the shape. On printed paper, yes they may be a bit more faint to see, but still there.

Yes, years ago I read needing the crease pad on the package and did purchase it, but found I don't really need it.

The star does take some time and patience to put together, but it really does look nice when finished.

Again, just my opinion.
