I just purchased a Silhouette Cameo. Actually, I purchased it about 4 days ago and I'm afraid to take it out of the box, lol. I'm a little intimidated. Anyhow, I was wondering about the designer software upgrade. I'm trying to decide whether it's better to get that or to purchase the Make The Cut software instead. I'm leaning towards the Designer Studio but thought I'd see what the peeps here think.
Also, do you know if one can purchase the electronic key code from anywhere other than the Silhouette site. I see a lot of places have offers for discounts on the key card ... just wondering if there are any deals out there for the electronic download.
Yes you can get the cide for the upgrade from most places that sell the Cameo. I got it because I did not want to miss any important options. I have had mine for about a month. Due to high volume of cards i make, I have three mats so I can cut a lot. I have lots to learn but I love it and it was easy to get started right out of the box.

So, Amber, you actually got a code and not a physical card then? Most of the places I have visited say it's a card but I'm wondering if they just don't advertise the code ... maybe I will email one of them to make sure. Thanks for your help!
Thanks, Ashley. I know that Silhouette website offers both but I was wondering about the other places that have it discounted. I emailed a couple places and I'm just waiting to hear back. If you know of a specific store that offers the electronic code and it's on sale, please let me know! Hallmark Scrapbook has the key card for $37.99 but I'm not sure if they sell the downloadable code as well. I also emailed Silhouette and let them know that there are other stores that have it discounted and wondered if they would consider matching the price. Doesn't hurt to ask, lol.

i haven't seen only the code anywhere, just the cards. and i agree, it never hurts to ask. i would think that they would want to discount it to match other stores.

Hi Sharon - this is where I purchased my upgrade, on sale for $30 (plus you get a $10 gift certificate for svg files!) and they email you the code within 24 hours! I got mine in less than an hour after I bought it.
