Those are adorable! My cameo arrived via UPS last nite and it's sitting here in the box and I'm anxious to dig into it! I'm afraid I won't be able to do anything else once I start with it so I have to do all my chores this AM before I open the box! lol!!
I cannot even begin to tell you how much I LOVE my "Cameo"! It is my third digital cutting machine as I already own the CraftRobo and Pazzles "Inspiration". Here are three of my latest projects:
DH's Valentine Card
Get Well Soon Card!
Birthday Card for Youngest Granddaughter
By the way, did I mention how much I love my "Cameo"?????
Also, I'm making a list of cut settings for different cardstock for the Cameo. Please contribute if you use different cardstock or settings from the ones already in the list in the first post. Thanks!
Oh My the projects that have been posted lately are wonderful!!! Thanks for sharing your tutorial Chaitali! The list of blade speed and thickness settings is a good idea too!
Is the new Silhoutte Cameo a lot better than the original which I have had for 3 years, mine is still plugging along and I don't want to part with it unless the Cameo is way better, I also have a cricut but use my Silhouette most of the time.
You can probably count on your machine going strong for a good few years yet! I bought mine with the first release, and that must be 10 years ago. Still going good. My sons MIL bought a Cameo, and she does love it. I think its main differences are the size- its a lot bigger, both in height & width, so that may be a consideration. It also cuts 12x12 card/paper, while the original is limited to A4. I think it can also cut thicker materials than the original. The other beauty of the original, is that you can just replace the cutting blade itself, and you will find many reasonably priced generic blades on e-bay. With the Cameo, you have to replace the whole blade housing too. Mine is still going strong- I won't be replacing it until it dies a natural death, lol.
I noticed that the Silhouette plus forum has been mentioned, another great place for help, resources & galleries is UKScrappers . The people on there have a lot of knowledge of the machines & software and are always happy to help new owners. They have galleries full of inspiration, and once you have been a forum member for a month(free), you get access to the hundreds upon hundreds of cutting files the members have posted up. :p
