Default Scor-Pal Envelopes

With all the info out there on Scor-pal there is still a question I need an answer to. When making envelopes with Scor-Pal what kind of paper do you use? Card stock is too heavy for envelopes and DP is too thin....when I scor it, no matter how lightly, the score goes right through the paper.

TIA

I use pattern paper like you get in the big stacks, Die Cuts With a View, etc. I have pretty good luck making envelopes with this.

Maybe, even if you think you're not, you are pressing down too hard when you score it? It really does take a light touch when making envelopes.

Reddyisco....I frequently will use cardstock to make my envelopes and score them with the Scor-Pal. They are not too heavy. I also have used printed paper (what I call scrapbook paper). That's rather thin stuff, but I don't have any problem with it tearing when I score with the Scor-Pal. You don't need to press so hard to score if using the printed paper/scrapbook paper.

I use the heavier weight (not paper weight) patterned papers for my envelopes. I've used cardstock, too, but prefer the patterned papers. I agree with Bugga that light pressure is all that is needed.

I have a variety of designer paper quality. When I use my thin designer scrapbook paper for making envelopes with my ScorPal, I just note the quality and the thinness or the thickness. Some papers are very thin, so I use the littlest of pressure when scoring. On thicker papers, I use a little more pressure. When I first choose the paper to make the envelope, I take notice of the quality of the paper, and then use lighter pressure to score on thinner papers. I did score through a light paper once, and that was my lesson! Now I just note the quality, and start with the pressure I think the quality will take. Even some of these thin papers make great envelopes! I also keep the patterns to the inside of the envelope, so its easier to write or stamp on the outside.

I recently bought a Scor-Pal and LOVE IT! I like making my own envelopes and am intrigued with the idea of using my Scor-Pal to do so.....but I don't know how! I am assuming that somewhere out there in computer land is a template just waiting to be downloaded! Any suggestions as to where I might find one?

Minnow.....Check out the Scor-Pal website. It's the best place to get all kinds of instructions. I don't know that they have templates, but there are lots of instructions very easy to follow.

Check it out!
