Ok, my hubby is going to buy me my choice of craft product for Valentine's Day. I've been reading through the posts and I've narrowed down my choices to the Scor-Pal or the ATG gun. They are about the same price. If you had to choose between the two of these, which would you get??
I don't have an ATG, but I love my Scor-Pal and would never part with it!! I use it for every card I make and lots of other projects, too. My 10 year-old dd is making her Valentine's using the Scor-Pal. It is so easy to use and just finishes any project!
This is funny. I'm a picture framer by trade, and *discovered* using my 1/4" wide ATG on my cards when I ran out of snail adhes. and was desperate!
After framing in six shops over 13 years (AF wife)- there's a huge debate over whether you even need the gun to apply the adhesive. Some framers apply it just as fast by hand as I can with a gun... so my long winded point... buy the rolls of ATG while your DH gets your Scor Pal first! Then decide if you even need the gun?
Well, the rolls have a waxy brown strip of paper that keeps the ATG rolled up without sticking together. I buy mine by the box, I think 12 rolls per box.
Mine come from my supplier of framing stuff, but I'm pretty sure DickBlick, and online sources sell the 1/4" by the roll as a refill to the gun.
On a new roll, there's a plaid (3M) piece of tape that starts it, take this off and tear off the excess to where the tape starts. I just unroll a length needed, (5" or less) and attach it to ribbon or strips of paper tape side down, then take off the brown strip covering it.
Yeah, it's waaay easier than this sounds... honest.
It's good for production line card making, you can prep the pcs. with the tape if needed.
ATG!!!! Hands down. I have a Scor-It, which is the same thing as Scor Pal basically and I have an ATG! I cannot live without my ATG. I find myself using it everywhere, not just for card making and scrapbooking. I even used it to wrap Christmas gifts with because the adhesive is so cheap....LOL. I promise if you use an ATG, your projects will stay together. I got mine at www.framingsupplies.com.
ATG- and don't forget to buy lots of adhesive while you're at it- Framing supplies is the way to go and they discount the tape if you buy 12 rolls (ok, I think I got that right)
I guess I am in the dark...please tell me what an ATG/gun is.
Thanks, but I went to Framing Supplies to see it. I had not heard of it before. I appreciate all the help the wonderful people on SCS give me. I came on here to ck out the Score Pal, now I guess I have to get them both.

For those of you who don't know, it's an adhesive transfer gun used by framers. I got the 714 from framingsupplies.com last month and, oh my! Where has this thing been all my stampin' life! 60 yds. of adhesive cost just over $2 compared to $3-something for a refill of 49 ft. for hermafix. If you stamp a lot it's definitely the way to go!

Get the ATG first. It really is true that you will save enough on adhesive to get the Score Pal in no time.
I wanted to thank you for recommending Armel for the ATG and tape...I saved even more $$ going with them and am now recommending them to everyone I know!
I do have the Scor Pal on order though...got it as a half priced item from my TAC party. ;)
Get the ATG first - and do not confuse Scor-Pal and Scor-it. If shipping wasn't so expensive, I would have my Scor-It on E-***. The Scor-Pal is WAY WAY nicer - easier to use and more likely to give accurate scores.
I too have both...but I'd have to say invest in the ATG first and like PeaceandJoy said - with the savings on adhesive you can buy the Scor-pal! They are both definite MUST HAVES for this hobby!! Good luck on your decision and have fun using which ever you decide on!
Do you have a method of adhesive that you already love? Go for the scor pal.
Do you have a method of scoring that you already love? Go for the ATG.
I personally would go for the scor pal, because I use a pampered chef scrapper to fold my cards- but have nothing to create scor lines except my cutter with a cruddy scoring blade. I have ways of adhearing things, and they work just fine.
Thank you all for your comments! I did decide to go with the ATG. I placed the order today. Yay!!! I can't wait for it to come in. Next on the list, the scor-pal.
