I'm interested in seeing the answer... I bought similar style fiskars which worked REALLY well at first but are now dull and I have no way to sharpen them. I was thinking of taking the "plunge" and getting the SU scissors.

Yes they are absolutely worth the price. I was very hesitant for several months and then I borrowed a friends and I was sold. They cut through the rubber like butter. They do great for intricate cuts, the blades cut all the way to the end unlike most scissors. The are well worth the money!
Yes, Yes, Yes!! These scissors are a "must-have" as far as I am concerned. They make trimming the rubber so much easier......and easier on the hand too!! I held out for quite a while....but, once I used them, I wondered why I had waited so long.
YES, YES, YES! I procrastinated on buying them for years - literally. Then was visiting my mom and tried hers and I was sold. I won't cut and mount without them now. I can't believe I waited so long.
absolutely a must have item! You will not be disappointed! (only surprised at how you ever cut rubber without them!) I keep alcohol wipes nearby to clean off the stickiness on the blades.
Yes, they are absolutely worth it. I am pretty careful how I spend my money, and I have never regretted buying the SU craft and rubber scissors. I'm not sure what makes them so special, but they are. Now I don't even mind cutting out my stamps.
The rubber cutting scissors ROCK!!! The first two or three sets of stamps I got I used regular scissors on and they looked bad, stamped with extra lines, and hurt my hands. So I purchased the SU! ones when my demo had a little "buy retiring stuff and I will give you my discount" evening - and they are wonderful. I use a little WD40 on them to clean them off and they do literally melt through the rubber. You will be thrilled. Once I ordered them, I set aside all my other new sets until the scissors were in my hands to trim with.
I use the SU ones and I couldn't be without them. I clean mine with fingernail polish remover. As for cutting around circles, I take small cuts and stay close. The more you do it, the better you get!
As so many others have said, they are definitely worth it. One of the reasons they cut so easily aside from their sharpness is that the fulcrum is closer to the end of the scissors giving you more leverage. Not only that, but they are made for both right and left-handed people.

YES!!! Do you have a friend who might let you "try" them? That is what I do, I'll let someone, under my supervision ;) try them when they don't think they need the scissors. Totally worth it!! Get it before getting an alphabet or the tiny phrase sets!!! A MUST have!
I held off for a long time figuring I'd rather have a stamp set....
Big mistake, as I look back over stamps now, I can see the difference where I trimmed rubber with my old scissors and then with the new SU rubber ones. A definite difference.
Don't delay, it's soooo worth it.

I think the scissors are a must-have and should be one of the first products a newbie to stamping should purchase. I waited about a year before I bought one and the first time I used it I kicked myself for waiting so long! No more sore hands and bad cuts!
As for trimming stamps, I'm usually careful to not cut too close to the image, but close enough to avoid "shadowing". Yesterday I was cutting out the Halloween Background set and accidently cut too close to one of the little bats. :( But, it was a very small mistake and since it is a background image, I don't think it will be very noticable. Anyway, taking small snips around detailed images really helps.
This brings up a question: Does anyone save the scrap rubber from trimming sets? A few years ago someone posted a card that she made using a sort of background stamp she created with the scrap rubber. Pretty cool idea, I thought. Any other suggestions? I would love to see your creations using these leftovers!
I didn't buy SU's Craft & Rubber scissors until recently (and I have cut hundreds and hundreds of stamps!) I personally do not prefer them at all, altho other rant about them. Maybe I am used to what I had been using for years, and teh y work well for me!
The SU Snips are a MUST though. I love these for tight spots and small, close jobs, but bigger areas need a bigger scissor...and straight, longer areas need a longer scissor too.
Keeping them sharp and free of nicks is important tho. My Upline recently bought a small Fiskars sharpener at Walmart for like $5, and it is wonderful. Many of the demonstrators used to send ours away to some man somewhere out west to sharpen them. This little gadget is much more efficient!

Yes, the scissors are great. Kai scissors is the brand name. offered by SU and also avail elsewhere. Sunday International carries them
I'd highly recommend them unless your demo would let your borrow hers for mounting any new sets. the last thing you'd want to do is spend $25 on average for a stamp set and then ruin it by not having clean cut and mount.
Yes, Yes and another Yes! I held out on buying rubber scissors and only got them because they came in my kit when I signed up to be a demo. As I started to cut my first set with them, I think I actually said "oooooouuuuuu" out loud! They are *SO* much easier than regular scissors. It's like a hot knife through butter. I will never mount another set without them! And, if they get gunky, just hit 'em with some plain 'ole rubbing alcohol - comes right off! HTHs!

and what do you use to make those nice clean cut around images...like floweres with intricate things?
100% totally worth it. I've tried other scissors like the EK Success non-stick and the titanium scissors and they don't even compare to the Kai. (At least not to me.)
