Default Scanning by Cards

My husband bought me the Big Shot for my birthday and I love using all the different texturz plates and embossing folders HOWEVER when I scan my card you can't see what texturz plate or embossing folder that I used. I even tried to take a photo of it, but still it does not show. What can I do so you can see the WHOLE card?

When I photograph my cards, I use high light above or around the card, and turn off the flash on my digital camera. I can almost always see the fine details like embossing, etc., on my cards.

Usually, though, when I scan them into my computer, the detail is lost!

Hope this helps!
