Hi-I need opinions! I want the scallop punches (by Marvy-Uchida). Everything I have seen done with them has been amazing! I just ordered myself the Giga Lever Scalloped Circle, as I thought that would be a versatile punch. Now, I am on a very *limited* budget (and trying to save excess cash for a big SAB order in Jan.), and I need to decide whether to get the oval or the square. I feel like the oval would be more useful...but I'm not sure? Also, I was unable to find the Giga oval, only the Mega-sized one. Is it super small? Am I better waiting until I can find a Giga-sized oval?
Please help-I need advice from you all!
TIA! :-)

I don't think you can go wrong with any of the scalloped punches. The circles, ovals, squares, etc are all great and versatile. The mega oval is still fairly good sized at 1 3/4" x 2 1/2" so you can probably get by with that for a while.
Giga Scallop Circle Punch - love it because it layers so well with circles or squares or tags and most stamps will fit on it.. I'm not sure the Mega would be large enough to layer with the tag punch.
I also have the Mega Scalloped Square Punch - it is ok to stamp with the small stamps but I would have like to have the Giga size so that I could layer more.
I absolutely want the Giga Scallop Oval but CANNOT find it available anywhere, hoping supplies come in after Christmas.
I don't have any, but would like to get some. As i think about what I would order, it would be the oval and circle. I probably wouldn't get the square, simply because I hae scalloped scissors. Granted - the results aren't as nice, but I am able to create my own square, rather than an oval or circle. So I would forsure get the oval over the square.
They are out of stock right now but keep checking back...
you can find them at slightly lower cost elsewhere on the web but I went through the manufacturer - I must say they had GREAT customer service (the oval one ended up being backordered after I placed my order and I got a PHONE call at home to tell me this from an actual person) - they have free shipping for orders over $40....
which I absolutely love - I am hoping I can find them for sale at Micheals or Joanns because I want another pair or two (I am always putting my scissors down and can't find them when I need them)

I have wanted these for some time and just placed an order with Frantic Stamper online. I also found another website when I googled the punches that had them in stock. I did have to pay shipping, but I'm impatient and couldn't wait anymore. I needed them! I have ideas in my head but can't make them. I got the Circle and Oval Giga. I had to limit myself, so those two were the winners, with some liquid applique too!
Thanks for all your feedback. I did check out the Frantic Stamper website, but I found that if I used coupons that JoAnn's was cheaper (even with shipping costs, it still amounts to less than the original price).
I think that I really want the Giga Oval punch, so I'll just have to "sit tight" until I can find one for sale where I can use a coupon. I check out Michael's and A.C. Moore every time I am there, and they never seem to have the Giga scallop punches in stock. Must be super-popular items!
Right now, I am excited to get my circle and start playing with that!

I first bought the oval and circle punches. I used scallop scissors for cutting squares until I got the square punch - figured I could cut fairly straight for squares and rectangles...
