Default River Rock help please

Can someone please help me with this colour! I hate it! I cannot see the point of it at all, however, I felt the same about Cajun Craze and I now use it quite a bit.

My stocks of RR are quietly building up and I have NEVER used any of it. What do you guys use it for? Any ideas gratefully received!

LOL...well my first thought is if you dislike the color so much, why are you buying it? I haven't bought any myself since I dislike it myself.

Okay, second thought...found a site that gives you SU color options.
ColorLab.MyCreateInk.com

I'm typing off my husband's iPad and I don't know how to make that a link like I could on our regular computer, sorry! Good luck! Hope you find some combo that works for you!

OH...you can also go to the gallery here on SCS and just search with the words River Rock; this will bring up lots of samples made with that color and/or ink. It's a lot to scroll through but this way you can SEE the color combos. You know what thru say, "seeing is believing"!

River Rock ink is one of my favs...it is especially good for vintage embossing with the folders. I use a brayer rolled on the ink a few times and roll the folder - then emboss. It is the perfect color for that aged look on white.

I have yet to order the card stock but that is in my next order. Wait, they still have it right?

I use River Rock and Black cardstock a lot for men's cards. Try stamping some of the animals from In Widerness on small pieces of River Rock and matting in black! Really a great look!

I was so happy when River Rock came back! I use it as a page base in scrapbooks, mixes in well with all other neutrals. It works great for masculine-themed cards, coordinates with greens, blues and darks like Espresso and black.

It also pairs nicely with pinks and purples as a neutral. It's a great neutral color for baby cards/stuff as well. I didn't get into it when it was an in color but I like it now!

Oh I LOVE River Rock! I painted my living room RR above the chair rail and Soft Suede below. I literally brought card stock pieces to HD and had them mix the paint. It looks good with deeper reds like Cherry Cobbler, as well as with Really Rust if you still have some of that.

My favorite thing to do with River Rock is to combine it with a deep, rich color. Rich Razzleberry, Elegant Eggplant, Cherry Cobbler, and Not Quite Navy are my favorites to pair with River Rock. It would probably look good with the darker greens too, like Garden Green and Always Artichoke. Oh, and someone mentioned Soft Suede, I love it with that color too.

Wow loads of fab ideas there. I am going to do a personal challenge tonight to make at least one card with it. I quite like the idea of it with the rich colours.

The reason I keep buying it is because it is in the Neutrals mix packs, which are the best option for me for cardstock, being incredibly fickle. It's the only ink pad I don't have!

Try Elegant Eggplant or Concord Crush with some green like Old Olive.

I'm in the same boat with RR! No, I've never bought it but it's been used in workshops I've attended. Other colors I haven't been quickly drawn to or seem to dislike many times grow on me. Not RR. I'll have to try some of the above ideas.

It's like Marmite! Did a card with it last night and it's not totally hideous. Keen to try it with Eggplant... that's today's challenge!

River rock, looks great with very vanilla and chocolate chip. I once made a wedding card with those colors. It was beautiful.
Good luck
