Does anyone have an idea of how much these weigh? Are they super heavy? They are a few ribbons on the end of keyrings aren't they, or do they come with a bag or other stuff? *confused*
Do not have a picture but they weigh little to nothing. It is like a keyring with a few ribbons hanging from the ends. They sold out during first session by Friday. Buy early if you are going second session.

Someone told me they were already gone at second session... they went this morning and there weren't any.....
Yep, confirmed, there are no more ribbon samples. They sold out by 10:15 this morning. I personally think it stinks because 1.5 hours after the door opened, they were sold out. It might have something to do with those individuals who were buying 15+ (yes, the lady in front of me had 15)! I think there should be a limit so everybody can share in the wealth! Isnt momento mall supposed to be a perk for convention goers? JMO!!
PLEASE make sure that you mention on your eval at the end of convention that you did not get a ribbon charm and give a suggestion on how they might fix that in the future!
Maybe if we ALL bombard them with emails, they'll make them a supply item.

I was very sad to see them go before I got there at 1st session to. i put it in my eval. that there should be a limit as not everyone made it there when the door opened. :(

The ribbon key rings were a hit this year. I unfortunately did not get to Memento hall until the 3rd day of convention and did not get any. I don't necessarily agree with putting a limit on the number of items a person can buy, but because some demonstrators were over zealous in their purchases a lot of demonstrators went away empty handed. For such a popular item it would be nice if SU could offer a one time additional purchase - take preorders and make some demonstrators happy. I bet a lot of demonstrators that already bought them would also order more. I believe this would be a win/win situation for all.
When you get home from convention, add some crystal effects to the inside of the cap to keep or make sure the ribbons stay intact. Alot of girls at session 1 put them on their bags and the ribbons started falling out.
Well it looks like I won't get one. The person who offered to get me one was charging $25-45 for shipping depending on method. I just can't justify spending that much on shipping when I can get a stamp set shipped to me for no more than $5 and these are lightweight items.

  I think I would be a bit upset about the shipping charge, it seems as though someone is trying to profit off the ribbon key rings ~ that would make me a bit concerned..... I don't even think it weighs more than a few ounces......

Im so sorry about this. I cant believe people on this site are trying to screw (sry for the language) other SCS members, and fellow demos. Really really makes me upset, and sad that these people cant even have a basic amount of decency. Give me a break. I always thought this site was to HELP each other out and share ideas and help make each others buisness better. Not see how we can make the most profit!!!!! Ok rant over.

$25-$45 to ship and handle is a rip off. Shame. I should pop over to ebay and see what they are going to go for there. Yeah you know they are sure to start selling them there.
I can live without a ribbon key chain. What a fiasco
the only way to fix this is to not buy them from people trying to make a profit.
it's a ribbon sampler. outside of the convention hype it's just a ribbon sampler.
i hope those greedy people get stuck with them.

You can't be serious!!!! Good grief ... some people have no shame!!

I check e-bay this morning for the heck of it, and as far as I could tell none have been listed yet. But, it's only a matter of time till they are.
Ladies I think we can make these ourselves. It won't be the exact ribbon but I am sure we can make it so cute. I was thinking about melting a bunch of embossing powder and stamping in that with the medallion stamp (someone did that here for a card I think it may have been Julia but not sure - but it looked AMAZINGGGGG). I would take the mesallion, punch a hole and add the ribbon and ring. Whatcha think? They would be such cute little Christmas presents for RAKs etc. I am going to start saving my scraps just for this

That is just wrong. They only cost $5.95. I can't believe a fellow demo would do that to another.

Ladies if you can believe it someone is sending me a ribbon sampler! I am so grateful and so very excited. I feel like a kid. I continue to be amazed at the kindness of Splitcoasters
I still think a ribbon scrap or self created ribbon sampler key ring swap would be so fun. What do you ladies think - just the scraps or shall we try to make something like the SU Ribbon Sampler keyring on our own? We could do it something like at least __ amount of fancy ribbon and ___ amount of plain ribbon, or some kind of guideline to help us all.
The other question would be who could participate. I am in Canada so for many of you in the US that may be a problem. I would love to hear ideas.
Found a fantastic helpful post done by Belinda on what these are made of, and how to make them. Looks like it won't be as easy as I thought.

Just measured and the cap is 15mm, a hard-to-find size, but I did see a few as I was browsing jewelry sites. (This one is 18mm http://www.artbeads.com/bbc0024.html)
The bell-shaped cap has a hole in the top. A 1" to 1-1/2" eye pin (http://www.artbeads.com/ss-ep23.html) is threaded first through a sequin then through the end of each ribbon-- just poked through, nothing special done. Then it goes up through the cap and is bent back down to make a loop. A small split ring (http://www.artbeads.com/ss-sr04.html) is attached to the loop and the keychain.
Does anyone have a photo of one of these? I am having a hard time picturing one...
ugh, I am so visual!
I think a ribbon share would be a bit of a challenge to organize, but worth it!
Unless SU is going to make it a supply item, or better yet, part of Great Rewards!!!
I know it is not the same thing, but I opened a swap to get at least the ribbon for these keychains, but then we will have to figure out how to put those bad boys together. Belinda had some wonderful ideas in another post about them. The link to the swap is on my siggy if anyone is interested I didnt want you to miss out.

I check e-bay this morning for the heck of it, and as far as I could tell none have been listed yet. But, it's only a matter of time till they are.
First session they were list before the second day. They were posting it from the hotel. I have had alot of demos at second session telling a staff member about it. She said if you saw it that fast you know it was a demo and it should have been reported. She is probably breaking the rules about selling current items.
When I first started as a demo 5 years ago I made myself a keyring ribbon sampler. I'm planning on doing so this year - my downline is offering a ribbon share on our group and I'm participating.
I really wanted a ribbon sampler, too, but the lovely demo that was going to pick one up for me couldn't even get one for herself! I felt worse for her than for me, since I think demos who went to convention should all have gotten the chance for at least one!
Ya same here, so I started a swap to at least TRY and make up some of the disappointment? I have gotten quite a few ppl so hopefully it helps some people feel at least a bit better!!
