replacements for confetti & naturals CS & envelopes
Hello All -
I am getting back into the stamping world after a long hiatus and I'm having trouble (let's call it "heartbroken") that some of the things I love and use all the time are no longer available from SU!. Specifically, it doesn't look like they sell Naturals (whisper white or very vanilla) or Confetti (WW or VV) card stock or envelopes anymore.
Does anyone have a suggestion for another company that has something extremely similar? I have plenty of CS to keep me busy right now, but one of these days I will be so sad when it runs out...
I'm hoarding my Naturals Ivory, too - SO bummed that it's discontinued! I'll be watching this thread to see what others are doing... (and thanks for asking the question)!
The SU confetti cardstock was discontinued by the manufacturer, and that manufacturer has been sold to Neenah. Neenah carries a confetti-type paper in their Astrobrights line. It's called Stardust White. Here's a sample of what you might find. Astrobrights Stardust White - White (confetti) paper, card stock and envelopes
That company also carries the Curious metallics lines. That's the SU shimmer papers. But you can get white (Cryogen White) AND vanilla (Poison Ivory)
There are also some papers in the Neenah Environment line that might match the naturals, and I think (based on the swatch online only) that there might be one like the confetti cream. The Desert Storm in that line is a good kraft paper...much better quality than the SU crumb cake (at least the package I have!) Some look like they might be like the naturals, as best as I can see. Here's some of the Environment line: Neenah ENVIRONMENT - 8.5 x 11 Cardstock Paper - 80lb COVER - 250 PK
Here's the Environment swatch book...
Environment has little flecks in all the papers.
I like Neenah papers a lot. The fact that I can buy them locally by the ream is a big bonus!
I have to go over to the paper store soon, and intend on checking for a sample book of the Environment papers. I have one for the Classic line, and it is a total temptation...I want to buy way too much paper! I'll check the sample book against my hoarded naturals papers.
Since Neenah purchased a couple of other paper companies that were struggling, they have continued to carry a lot of that paper. Astrobrights was one line. They now have a good line of office papers, too.
Neenah makes some VERY fine paper...with some very fine costs, believe me. But they have a lot that is much more "standard". And a whole lot of in-between. The most popular paper in our world that they make is the Classic Crest in Solar White, in the 80 pound cover (for layers) and the 110 pound cover (for card bases).
I'll check the sample book against my hoarded naturals papers.
Diane did you ever get a chance to check your Naturals with the sample book? From looking line the Neenah Environment doesn't look like a match to me but I could be wrong. Thanks for any additional help you can provide.
I posted this same question on the demo side and just got this response related to Stampin' Up! Naturals cardstock.
I believe they've been discontinued, but it was Fox River Paper Company. "Confetti" line. Fox River was bought by Neenah, and I believe the confetti line is no longer produced. "Kaleidascope" was the white with fleck; "Ninja" was the cream; I don't remember the name of the kraft color. You might want to order some current samples from Fox River and see if there's anything close. I still have some very old (10+years) fox river cs and it's an exact match.
(Still would like an update from you Diane if you have one. Thanks!)
I used most of my Naturals cardstock making my Christmas cards this year, figuring I'd restock during SAB, then couldn't find it in the current catalog. So sorry to learn it was discontinued! I'd've been more conservative had I known.
Wplus9 also has a perfect substitute. Its called Oatmeal.
Looked at this online and it does look similar to the SU Naturals White. I am looking for the Naturals Ivory. I also loved the envelopes and haven't been able to find anything close.
I get most of my cardstock from Marco Paper. They have a lot of choices, and their prices and customer service are A-1. I love their Cougar brand white and natural. 80# is fine, but their 100* is really nice. They carry many brands, and I love to look through their website.

My Favorite Things has a Primitive White and a Primitive Cream, along with envelopes for both colors. I haven't been around long enough to see the SU cardstock that's referenced, but a crafty friend tells me they're a very close match. MFT cardstock and envelopes are of a great quality, nice and thick.
WPlus9 has oatmeal envelopes to match their cardstock. Also a great quality.
I have only purchased PTI's rustic white so I'm not sure how ivory the Rustic cream is--I actually preferred PTI over SU's version. I just purchased My Favorite Things Primitive White and love it.
