I've just bought a lot of DCWV cardstock. Removing the product sticker is not going well! There is a definite stickyness left on the cardstock. What can I do to get the sticker/glue off the cardstock?
Depending on where the sticker is and what I'm using the cs for, I don't even bother trying to remove it. I don't fight to get them off unless I'm certain the sticker will show in my finished product.
If you finish the inside of your cards, the sticky residue can be easily hidden under the inside liner where you'd put your sentiment.
Thank you ladies for your input. I found the Un-DU at a scrapbooking store. A little scary at first - putting a drippy liquid on cs - but it worked like a charm.
Un-DU is the best adhesive remover I have ever seen. There is absolutely no marks when it dries. That stuff is fantastic . My grandson washed his jeans at my house and he had left gum in his pocket. It was all over my dryer drum. I used Un-DU in a paper towel and it removed every bit of the gum in the dryer . I also used it on his jeans and it took it off those too.
Because it is flammable I washed out the dryer after I used the Un-DU and re-washed his jeans
I don't know if it should be used on fabric, but the jeans were ruined if I couldn't get the gum off of them, so I gave it a try . It worked like magic
Those stickers make me down right mad! I am spending my money and I have to worry about getting those stickers off. Half the time they don't come off and if I have to buy Un-do to get off what shouldn't be on there in the first place... they can keep their paper. I understand stores have to have a way to ring up the sale but those stickers are not the answer. I'll get off my soapbox now.
Can I use the soapbox ?
I am more annoyed when they print the sticker "on" the paper and that portion of the paper is unusable,
That is another reason I like SU paper. None is wasted because of stickers or bar codes.
Paper is expensive enough without part of a sheet being unusable
Doesn't SU have their name and the copyright symbol on their dsp? I know that one of my recent hostess level 6x6 packs has it. They aren't as noticeable as a hideous sticker, but they still render that part of the paper unuseable.
My personal preference is the extra strip (perforated or not) along one side that has all the retail info. A lot of companies are going this route for individual sheets which I think is brilliant. You should be able to use both sides of the full sheet you paid for.
This was the first time I've ever bought DCWV paper - just because of the sticker. However when it's on clearance for 25 cents for 12 x 12 sheets of textured paper in my favorite colors - well let's just say I bought 102 sheets of it!!

Yes, and Murphy's Law says it's always on the piece I want to use and in a place that shows!
