I know there is a huge cuttlebug thread, but I don't have 5 days to sit down and read it!!! I have a basic question about alphabet die cuts. what kind of adhesive do you use? Some of them are so skinny I can't tape them. Is it easiest to run cs through the xyron? This seems like it would be wasteful. I really wnat to start scrapping and I want to make my titles with my dies. Thank you for the help

I use the Xyron when I use my Sizzix alphabets. There are time that they are wide enough to use Snail in spots but when they aren't I just drop them in and keep going until I have a long line of letters. HTH

I have been using the Sakura Quickie Glue Pen and it seems to work really well! I love it. I moved and still have not yet found my Xyron X sticker maker or it would be used as well for that.

I also use the quickie glue pen...it's the easiest way ever! You get 2 in a package, and they are wonderful. The letters get kind of "lost" in the xyron sticker maker....it's just hard to put them where you want them; and it wastes so much of the sticker stuff...

oh see I was thinking of putting a piece of cs through the xyron and then using the cuttlebug. does this make sense or is this where too much waste will come into play. Another thought - will the xyron sticky stuff muck up the cuttlebug dies?

I use the little Xyron X sticker maker. It works great for the small stuff that is hard to get other adhesives on.
And it's not a dumb question. Chances are if you have the question so do other people who are just too intimidated to ask. The good news is that someone here will have an answer to match your question.
I have learned more from the people here than any other place.
my husband probably would have been happier to get me the little xyron sticker maker. I thought for sure bigger was better so I asked for the 900 for christmas!
This is the place to turn for all your stamping/scrapping questions, no doubt.
I've tried the rest and come back to the best!

you can pick up one of the little xyrons really cheap for something like the alphas...I usually use one of the Zig two-way glue pens...they come in all kinds of tips so one of those will work on any alpha you may be working with.
I have been using the zig fine tip glue pen but I can see the glue around the letters ...little x seems to work better, just get a xyron adhesive rubber it takes away the excess adhesive, much better
Wow .......I just did that I put some cs through the xyron ...pulled off the clear part rubbed it with the xyron rubber to get excess adhesive off and then used the thanks die and it worked brilliantly the word thans has stuck down great................
I just discovered adhesive cardstock. It works great.
I agree! I don't have alphas, but several die that are quite intricate and it works perfectly! Mine is DieCutWithAView and I got the smaller mat size pad for 50% off at J's.

Yep -- that's exactly what I got. I did a card the other day with the floral border, and it worked like a charm!
Excellent question - thanks for asking. Advantage to running the c/s through the little xyron & then thru the die cut - it puts adhesive on both parts (positive & negative) at the same time. Just store the unused pieces until the next time & they're ready to go. Plus the sticker back might keep them from getting crumpled or creased. I see the little xyron in my future.......

That's a great idea. I have the Xyron 900 & 500. I can see much more use in their future now!
Yet another vote for the Sakura Quickie Glue Pen - it has a fine point so it works for the smallest, fiddliest shapes. Before I discovered this wonder product, I used my Xyron 150 (X shaped small one) but I much, much, much prefer the Quickie glue pen. Far less wasteful and far less time consuming.
looks like I have to go to M's today to get a 900 cartridge and start making adhesive cs! boy I love good reasons to shop! Plus DH is out of town and always feels so guilty when he's travelling that he never questions where the budget goes! I feel a shopping spree coming on.

I like this idea! I think its worth a shot I bought self adhesive print cs at target to cut with it.

I was having this same issue with some of the cricut letters. After buying 3 other types of glues...I found a ball point glue pen that works awesome. I think it's an EK brand, but I'm sure any "ball point" glue pen would work.
