Question RE: Copic makers

With all the positive hype about copic markers, I really want to try some. I do not color often, but prefer strong grip and tip that does not sway! I am also interested in knowing which copic colors match the following stampin up colors:

Riding Hood Red
Chocolate brown
eggplant envy
Night of Navy
Pacific Point
Pumpkin Pie
Old Olive
Tangerine Tango
More Mustard
Cajun Craze
Cherry Cobbler
Always Artichoke

I would suggest the sketch marker rather than the ciao. I also wouldn't get them from Hobby Lobby because everyone has been opening them, writing with them etc. I would order online from Oozak.com or carpiediem.com. I personally love the customer service from Oozak and the speedy shipping (also free shipping if you order over $50.). Any other questions, feel free to ask.

Hobby Lobby carries a selection of markers in 144 colors.

I am in the minority in that I prefer copic ciao markers, especially for someone new to alcohol ink markers. They are round like any marker you have used before and they have less ink and are lighter so it is easier to color with a light hand. Most users prefer Sketch markers...which are also wonderful...I have and use both all the time. I bought all the ones I could as ciao and filled in my collection with sketch...since that was the most cost effective way to get the most colors.

I love copics but I dont use them as much as I thought I would. I bought a bunch of ciaos and I'm not using them you can see the list Here. I think hobby lobby has a great selection and at my hl they have them enclosed in a glass case so they arent handled by everyone.
Hugs,
Raven

Copic tips are a bit more flexible than Tom Bows or Le Plume. Not like an artist brush but nevertheless more flexible.

I bought 2 shades of one color ( green) from Hobby Lobby ( when they were 30% off) just to see if I would like them before I invested too much money.

I watched some tutorials by Beate Johns where she had colored some JustRite Christmas sets with Copics . She listed the colors she used so I bought those.

After I was certain I liked them I bought them from Oozak . Their prices are cheaper, but I think you have to order $50 to get free shipping

Since then I have added to my collection by noting the colors used in cards I admire. Many of the designers list the Copic colors they use.
I found that by buying color combos that others have used has worked well for me. They did the experimenting to find colors that work together.

Copic VS Prismacolor
I have learned to blend the pencils(no gamsol or baby oil)quite well, but it takes me a while so I'm wondering if the coloring would go faster with Copics. Since it is a big investment I'd like to know what you all think. Any feedback is appreciated. Thanks
