Those of you out there who have and use this, is it worth the money? Do you use it alot?
I have so many stamps, but am really into scrapbooking right now... Do I need quickutz? Can you live without yours? What are the pros and cons?? Thanks for your help!!!
I lovoooove my Quickutz!!! I use it mostly for the alphabets, but I've started my shapes collection also. It is so easy to use and the selection of dies is wonderful. They are also really compact to store!
I have the Sizzix also...haven't used it since I got the Quickutz.HTH
If you scrapbook....you will love it. It's also Today's Special Value on QVC right now and the price is out of this world for what you get! I can't get over what a value it is....and it's on easy pay! You can't beat it and it also comes with shapes. Check it out. http://www.qvc.com/asp/frameset.asp?dd=/hp/hp_dd.html&nest=/scripts/detail.dll?frames=y!tpl=tsv!item=tsv!tmp=hp&cont=tbtsv
I love my QK! I use it a lot when I scrap. I love how you can match any page with the right cardstock. If you get it, make sure and get the small X Xyron. Makes it sooo easy!
Go for it.

I am so excited about my QuicKutz. I ordered the special from the QVC website late last week, and mine arrived today!!! I can't wait to use it! And it is a GREAT deal.
I like using diecut letters for scrapbooking; I guess I'm kind of weird in that scrapbooking and stamping are almost two separate hobbies for me. I rarely stamp in my scrapbooks. So the QuicKutz system is ideal for me. You may find that you like diecuts better for scrapbooking too.
Anyway, that's my 2 cents worth!!!
I love it. I have two other girl friends who have them. We order stuff so that we have lots of choices and no duplicates. Between us we have 6 alphabets and lots of shape dies. I like mine because I do a lot of scrapping away from home and the QK just fits in my bag and does not take up a lot of room. The sizzex weighs a lot.
I use my Xyron with the letters and it's making my own stickers.
It is an investment, but my scrappbook store sells them at 30% off and free shipping.
The main reason I like diecuts is that I like to to be able to cut my letters out of patterned paper. I have scrapbooked about 5 years and only started stamping 2 years ago. I have lots of the classic ink pads, but I only have one craft pad. I don't have the money or the desire to invest in both the classic and the craft, and craft is what they recommend for scrapbooking. So I've just continued to scrapbook using diecuts instead of stamps. It is just a matter of preference.
Can I scrap (read: live!!) without my Quickutz? Yes.
Do I want to scrap (live!) without my Quckutz? **HECK NO!!**
I love that new fonts are available every few months, I love all of the fonts that I have, and I really enjoy the shape dies that I have. I find that once the initial investment has been made, it's really not that bad...I just budget. To me, I like using die-cut letters *and* stamps....but I find that my die cuts letters are *nothing* like my stamps. I do a great deal of vintage scrapbooking, and find that lettering stamps don't work as well as die cut letters. Stamped non-alphabet images work *extremely* well with the vintage looks, but for some reason, I've never found an alphabet stamp that *really works* with my vintage layouts.
However, this is just my 2 cents....that and another $4.50 will get you a Frappucino at Starbucks! Take it for the $0.02 it's worth!!!! ~ Kaylyn

I know that SU! recommends the Craft pads...but here is not only my opinion, but a synopsized consensus of my sidelines:
Go ahead and scrap with the Classic Pads. Not enough time has elapsed for *anyone* to be able to say that one type is more durable than another. The Craft pads take longer to dry, are more likely to smudge, and lots of demos have noticed that they actually "rub off" onto page protectors. *EVEN IF* the Classic inks were to fade, they will fade uniformly in your book...and generally, fading is more related to light and sunlight exposure than to age. The Classic Inks are still acid-free; stamp them onto acid-free paper and you shouldn't have any problems. They are also more *true* colors because they are dye-based (you'll probably note that the Craft [pigment] inks are usually "slightly off" but not drastically so.)
I know that you didn't ask for a response, but I thought I'd share since a fairly sizeable group of us (about 65 or so) discussed this topic and pretty much had all formed the same conclusions. HTH ~ Kaylyn

I love my QK! I debated and debated about buying one because of the price (household of four and one income). I do not regret my decision to buy one at all. The money was well spent. If you are a scrapbooker than you will love it. If you buy an alphabet set you will never be without a letter or not have the right color. The single and double dies are not that expensive. The alphabets are another investment but if you choose one that you feel is versital than it will be a good investment.
I agree you need the small Xyron also. It will make life so much easier.
If you check around at your local scrapbook stores I'm sure you will find one that is selling all QK at 30% off.
LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE IT. I have both the QK and the Sizzix and I am an SU Demo but I was a scrapbooker first. I could not live with out any of these!!!!
i used one of these and didn't like it. perhaps it was just the one i used, but it simply wouldn't give a clean cut without applying a lot of pressure (we cut cardstock and ribbon). i was taking a class and i think out of the 10 people or so there, only 2 or 3 of us were able to get it to work right. maybe it was that cutter, maybe it was the dies we were using--i don't know.
i'd suggest trying it out first if you can. if you like die-cuts, getting your own machine is a good investment imo. i have a sizzix and the sidekick--love them both and find them much easier to work with than qc.
you might look into some others as well. the zip e mate cuts dies from all the companies as does the wizard. the wizard is also really cool because not only will it let you emboss from brass stencils--you can emboss flat charms and stuff too!
My friend has a QK and loves it, but I got an Accucut Zip'emate, and I LOVE IT! It will cut dies with a turn of the crank (no pushing) and it also dry embosses! You can use any brass template, and so you get that advantage, too! I am waiting on my 5/8" alphabet (backordered) that will be a cut circle and also embossed! It's so pretty! I think all these die cut machines are great, but I love my Zip'emate because of the ease of use, and the multi-use aspects. I believe the website to see them is www.accucut.com but I wouldn't bet my life on it!
Good luck choosing!
