Anybody know anything about this machine? I was thinking of getting it instead of a Cuttlebug and wonder if it will work with the Cuttlebug embossing folders. It looks like it will.
What about sizzix dies? Does anyone know if those will work in it? Up to what size of sizzix?
All I have is the original Sizzix, and I really want another die cutter. I was looking at the cuttlebug and the Big Shot. Then, I heard about the Epic. Just can't decide.
I want to know if it will be able to use Nesties and CuttleBug embossing folders without purchasing any special adapters or searching Home Depot for adaptations....... I have searched and all i can find are vague statements, no one seems to know, including my LSS and she ordered a dozen of them.... I would love to have just one die cutting machine that does an excellent job on all the brands of embossing folders and die cutters
I have been looking at the Big Shot Express but i cant find answers to these simple questions............ I want one machine that comes with all the adaptors and mats and platforms and magnet sheets and teflon pads to CUT EVERYTHING... am i dreaming????????

No! Big Shot will cut everything, and it looks like the new Epic Six will cut everything as well. The only other thing you really might need (of the big shot anyway) is some sort of rubber sheet to emboss with the nestabilities. This is not a big deal, you can get plumbers gasket, you can use the tan mat that can be ordered from a number of places, and I've even used fun foam in a pinch. Basically you just need a soft surface in between the cutting mat and paper that creates that embossed effect from the pressure of the machine.
I know it seems overwhelming. There are tons of threads on this board discussing your questions.

I just bought the Epic 6 this weekend. I've never had a die cutting machine before. I did see some negative reviews however - I can't tell you how easy it was to use and the nice job it did cutting and embossing. I'm a fan!

That's great! Have fun with your new machine. Are you going to get the letterpress kit?

It may be the one they are returning. I've read it won't cut thru the textured cs, even if the die is shimmed. Others have said that when they put a 4 x 8 alphabet in it not all the letters will cut out.
I'm holding out to see if QK does something to improve on the design of it.
does anyone know the exact date the letterpress kit will be released? I see it's on preorder on few websites but I am curious as to when it's going to be available.

Yes, this is why I returned my E6. Not sure why I even bought it because I have a Big Kick that handles all dies beautifully. QK has great customer service, though, and has been helping people with the cutting problems.

I had a bigkick and it wouldn't cut my quickutz cookie cutters well. So I traded up for the Epic 6, unfortunately mine is one them that has issues cutting : ( I will call QK tomorrow during office hours and I am sure the issue will be fixed. From what I have heard from some forums is that there were some manufacturing issues with a series of the machines and they working to fix the issues and fixing the issues with the Epic 6 out in the field that have issues.
The bonus about this machine is that there is a lifetime warranty, which no other machines have. The revolution even only have a 1 year warranty. Anyway I will let you know how it all works out.
I talked ot customer service and they have a work around for the next couple of weeks. They are working on the issue and will exchange your epic 6 for a brand new one, once they have completed fixing the issue. They are quick and curtious. If you bought an epic 6 and are having an issue you should call QK customer service and they will ensure you recieve the work around piece and a new machine.
I am still glad I purchased this machine and am happy to have bought from a company with great customer service

My Epic 6 cuts like butter! I prefer it over the CB as there's less sandwiching involved and the base is more stable. Not sure about the length of the Rev warranty(but I thought all QK tools were lifetime??) anyhoo--my Rev is several years old and recently went in for new gears and QK's awesome cs fixed it for free. I know the Epic's gotten a bad rep but if you get a non-defective one, it really is a smooth cutting/embossing machine.
