Questions about acetate and chipboard

I need help with two items - acetate and chipboard.

1. I bought some K & Co diecuts and they have a lot of acetate diecuts and I have no idea what type of adhesive to use to adhere them.

2. I have so many chipboard diecuts and I'm trying to use them up but I'm having trouble. I tried to use white ink on them and used pigment on one and dye on another and now have more than 5 coats and still they look "chipboard" bare color. What am I doing wrong?

Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

With the acetate, use brads, staples, eyelets or things like that to attach it. or perhaps if you used an adhesive that you could see underneath maybe you could cover it with with some paper or similar.

I always paint chipboard with acrylic paint before stamping.

Metalcharm, thanks so much for your answers. I was hoping I wouldn't have to paint the chipboard but I'll do that tomorrow. The acetate will give me reasons to use up some of the brads, colored staples or eyelets that I have too!

I use vellum tape for my acetate. I have used a glue dots too. I love the K&Co acetate pieces. They are so pretty.

Chipboard you can color it with chalk inks, gouache paint, acrylics. You can use Gesso.

I usually run my acetate through my Xyron, or I put a few dots of Diamond Glaze where the shape has some dark colors (if there are any). For the chipboard, you can also try a thin coat of gesso. That should seal it so that it isn't porous, and then you can stamp on it.

You could emboss on the chipboard.

Thank you all for such wonderful suggestions. I have several Xyrons and I never even thought of using it for the acetate. I'll try using chalk ink too. I did paint the chipboard with 2 coats of white acrylic paint and then used ink on the edges and liked the way it turned out.
