Default Question about stamping magazines

Hello,

I love stamping and as it's not easy to find materials in Portugal or a place to learn how to use new materials or to learn new tecniques. So, I use Internet for it and magazines. I believe I have much to learn so I decided to subscribe a stamping/rubberstamping magazine. I made a 3 months subscription of Craft Stamper, a UK magazine. This magazine has lots of projects and also very beautiful too. It offers a free stamp with every issue but the projects doesn't have enough photos of how they are making. I want to know which magazines you advice or you like most and why.

thank you all

Elisa

Great question. I don't buy a lot of magazines anymore because there is so much free inspiration on the web -- but i do like the Joy of Cardmaking -- it has sketches to save and use. The Rubber Stamper is nice, but after 4 years I felt it had nothing left for me except ads, which I can see on the internet!! Good luck!

The Stampin' Up catalog gives me alot of inspiration--not a magazine, but I read it almost every day! There are cards, projects, scrapbook pages galore! In the back it lists what products are used which is a bonus. I try to learn basic techniques online.

The best source of ideas for me are my scrapping/stampin' buddies! Find a crop, laugh, learn and make friends too! Life is good.

Best wishes to you.

If you want great online tutorials try the technique junkies newsletter from Patstamps.com It's not a magazine, just a newsletter but it's all about the techniques and the tutorials are great, you can even order past tutorials on specific projects. With each newsletter you get a password for the online stuff which gives a nice gallery for each technique also.

I sub to PaperCrafts, and also love the "Take Ten" books from Stampington.com (you can order past issues online). I've also found "The Joy of Cardmaking" -- vols one and two -- to be a great resource.

Honestly...I have learned everything I needed to know..on-line...most of it at this site! I'm self taught and just started stamping 2.5 years ago...it is amazing where this site can take you!

I have PaperCrafts subscribed, comes every couple months, I also often buy the in between ones that are somewhat bigger, Joy of Cardmaking are excellent. I got Paper Made Easy for one year, it is good but I decided that I would rather pay one less subscription and be able to buy another stamp set! Same $$!

Also, the SU idea book is great because it has no other patterned paper like the others do so you get a better idea of what SU products you already have can be used for.

That being said, I love patterned paper on my cards so do a lot of this and that. I like the Paper Crafts for that reason. Maybe it depends on your personal taste.

Did that make any sense at all?? On top of it all, this site is THE BEST for ideas, comraderie, community...
