OK. In browsing the galleries, I've noticed many beautiful sprial notebooks. Some look as if the top cover was removed and replaced with cardstock. Others look as if cardstock was layered over the existing cover.
Here's my question ... How do you get the wire back in if you remove the original cover???
I just tear out a piece of paper in the spiral and use that as my template to cut the card stock. I then take my whole punch and punch the wholes in the same spot as the wholes on the paper you tore out. After I punch the wholes I cut a slit at each whole then all you have to do it wrap around the spiral ring. Very easy and you don't have to mess with taking that wire out! Here are some that I made. I just made some of these notebooks. The first one I did by removing the wire. I then tried punching the holes and cutting from the hole to the top. Way easier than removing the wire. And you can't even tell the slits are there.
When you put the cover on with the slits from the holes to the edge, do you have any problems with the cover staying on?
TIA,
Carla
I attach with mono! You can hardly tell the slits are there. Most people ask how did you take that wire off? They don't notice the slits. It will save your sanity!
I also want to try one of these, but I sure can't see myself taking the
spiral wire out and then putting it back in! I agree with Hope.
I have so little sanity left as it is!
   I have been beating my head up against the wall trying to come up with a way to do spiral note pads with out taking the wire out !!!! I am sooooo impressed with your ingenuity and creativity!
Teresa~ It took a lot of trial and error! I about lost my mind trying to take that stupid wire out!! Glad I could be of help! Post what you made when you get a chance!
Okay guys, I have been out of stamping for a while soooo I am going to stand behind the quote "the only stupid question is the one not asked". On that note...what is mono, where do you get it, and how do you use it.
Loved the spiral notebooks Julie!

Mono Adhesive....or now Stampin' UP! calls is SNAIL Adhesive
Ok, I'm confused. :? What are you attaching with mono? If you attach the cover to the paper underneath then how do you flip the cover open?
Thanks!
I too would like to know if Julie is attaching her CS to the paper or to the existing cover of the notebook. Hope Julie is out there. We sure love your notebooks.

I'm going to go against the grain on this one. No big surprise to some of you.
I find it real easy to take the wire off. Just unhook one end, clip the other off with wire cutters and unroll. Then it's SUPER easy to roll the wire back on. I also like the look and I think it looks very professional that way. I tried the other way and it ended up being MORE work for me than the way I had always done it. JMHO
Julie, I have been wanting to try to cover a sprial....thanks for the "tip". I am new to SCS and I am also a new SU demo. Can't wait to try this out! Love the prayer journal idea..my teen girls (church youth group) would love these.
